Got the deal of a lifetime when they bought us. They have overseen the worst safc team in history they've employed 2 of the worst managers in living memory
It's now time for them to **** off and sell to someone who is willing to spend some money and employ a manager to get us out of this league

Yeah we are very unfortunate to end up with them.

When they purchased us, there was 100s of billionaires queuing round the stadium of light, all trying to throw their bids at Ellis Short. Unfortunately Short had a flight to catch, so took Donald's offer.

Since we've had Donald at the club, we've had 2 finals at Wembley, I didn't like either of them trips because the burgers were so expensive.

Then they went and got some of the richest men in the world involved at the club. What a stupid decision that was, ive heard suzie at the cafe in rocker wanted to invest, why didn't they pick her?!

And what makes Donald and co so so bad, is before they arrived at the club, we were scooping in all the major trophies every single year!!

You couldn't be more right with this post mate. Spot on.

I think it's Ross's Scottish chums that need to f*ck off.

McGeouch and McGeady don't look even slightly interested and McLaughlin couldn't grab a granny at the minute!

I can see it turning toxic if Coventry go a goal up in our next home game, people have had enough of Donald and Methvens bullshit now.

They gambled too much on going straight up last season

I still think they've got the best interests of the club at heart

Just obviously they under estimated how much of a massive job this is

    Worst managers in living history.
    No hyperbole there mind?
How much money do you believe is swishing around the lower leagues that we can spend?
Just because you spend doesnt guarantee you success.
We were in top 10 net spenders during our decade or so in the premier. We spent most of time in bottom six.
We need a good manager not these insipid yes men we keep getting foisted on us.
Bielsa went to Leeds and took the team he inherited and transformed the style of play.
Essentially PP and ross are cut from the same cloth.

That's nothing, the 7th biggest bank in the world invested in my project to buy my home and knock through the wall between the kitchen and dining room.

I’m waiting to see what happens in January before I go all in on it, but it’s starting to look like there’s a massive storm brewing.

On the park, I feel as if the material appointment was as uninspiring to the players as it was to us, and they haven’t responded, they’ve regressed.

We are now an average League One team, there’s no buoyancy whatsoever, the only hope is that the Americans can see a ship without a rudder and the investment that they made is bait to a vulture.

The owners won’t be able to repay it, and their leverage is the club, and not for £50 million either.

We aren’t going up this season. The squad is shocking and overloaded with similar players of a shocking standard. There isn’t going to be a fairytale run as we simply do not have the ability in the squad to have one.

They’ve loaned money to run the club. The EFL have many a question to answer about this ownership now. I just about accepted the manner in which the club was bought, but I can’t accept them taking a loan to fund the grass roots of the club.

If their isn’t investment in the playing staff early in January, funded by the owners, the **** is going to get incredibly dangerous. The toxicity is already creeping in, and we can all sense that there’s a big mushroom of it about to blow.

We don’t look like winning games against average sides now, and the manager appears to be an unmitigated disaster. We’ve have 3 far worse performances than under Ross recently.

I don’t fear for the clubs future, I’ll credit the owners with that, but I can see the Americans effectively taking the club from them to save their arses, with them making **** all out of it.

The only way they can avoid this is major investment in the squad and a post Christmas miracle, but even with that the folk they have in charge of the team and recruitment, well they wouldn’t be trusted to bring in the right players.

It's a dire state of affairs and I can only see it ending with the owners, manager and 2 thirds of the playing staff removed.

We are going to have a 3rd year at this level realistically, and the owners have to take full and complete responsibility.

People can say ‘not far off’ points wise, indeed, I said that myself on here 3 weeks ago.

The facts are, though, that the level of the team has dropped dramatically again in that period, and the most positive man on earth can’t fail to see that we are spinning towards a cliff face.

I’m staggered, concerned, and really ****ing saddened by what I’m seeing. Top to bottom the club is in a horrific state.

The scale of the turnaround to even save this season is daunting.

Playing close to a full strength team in a piss pot trophy, and coming out at the end of a hiding was a shambolic and desperate bit of management. I stand by what I said before he was appointed, I’ve given a bit grace to try and back him, but the appointment was an absolute disgrace, stinking of a lack of ambition and fear of character.

I don’t know where the **** we go from here, as we haven’t anything in situ to halt the slide.

    It’s grim.

Oh, and we’ve no sponsor or kit deal for next season, just to add to the bed of roses.

Good post @Nads, one I agree with (and some). There are some things that are excusable about the purchase because of our dire straits at the time, but something does not add up about the urgency for 'investment' at this stage.

Whether Donald can fund us in the PL was never a question, but we were told in the summer by Charlie that the club could have a top half budget in the Championship if we got promoted this season. Now it's dwindled to this, needing extra cash for vague maintenance that the owner should be able to fund regardless of what division we are in.

At some point, if we want growth as a club, we have to rely on more than just skill and luck, we also have to have targeted, calculated investment from the owner. Right now we are getting the opposite, an owner who takes, disappears, and runs us as a top half League One club.

Tremendous post mate, just facts and well balanced opinion.

Buckle up as it's going to be similar for the foreseeable.

It makes me deeply unhappy, to the point where I didn't even follow the game last night and only checked the result at about half 10.

I was similar mate, checked in around the hour mark was 0-0, then seen the red going through.

Its a really trying time as nothing whatsoever seems to be clicking or working on or off ty r park. There’s little sign of recovery.

The lads need all our support these 2 home games but ****ing hell its hard to be buoyant and defiant in the face of what we are being served.

That is the best post I've read on here for ages mate - nice one. I'm absolutely sick of all of the negativity knocking around. I know that things are far from being great, but abusing the owners really ain't the best course of action in my opinion

I just feel so 'small time' nowadays.

Granted we're in League One, we cannot get away from that but a lot of what I see and what we do seems to be fitting of a League One (or lower) club.

Right from the transfers, manager sacking & new appointment, the podcasts, recruitment etc.

The transfers have been woeful, mainly due to the lack of scouting and funding,

The manager appointment was horrendously un-ambitious and awfully planned - "we looked at L1 success rate" - so does that mean someone who has been successful abroad or in the Championship is a worse appointment?

Sacking Ross without even an idea of a plan for who we recruit afterwards was amateur.

The Podcasts are embarrassing now, they smack of small time mentality - how many other clubs our size put their board in front of fanzine's and give a 1 hour Q&A every few months?

The scouting/recruitment is ****e, bringing in free transfer crocks 30+ years old - is there no young blood out there wanting to come on loan etc.?

It's deeply deeply saddening, and I can't seem to see how we're going to get anywhere near getting away from it.

This may all be acceptable for owning non-league Eastleigh, but not Sunderland.

That is a part of it, a major part. League One success is failure for us.

    They missed that memo.
