Personally I’m close to losing interest on City; I’ll probably not stop watching them but again a team lacking basic skill and a plan get done by an average team who knew all they had to do was head away punt after punt and nick one on the break. That’s 3 Sunday sky noon games we’ve lost with not a clue how to deal with the opposition. 3 average teams have won with relative ease each time by doing the basics and having worked out Warnockball. Granted City were unlucky to hit the bar twice but I can’t remember their keeper saving anything other than 2 tame headers. Roll on the end of the season (with hopefully enough points) and start from scratch next season. I’d prefer to see a team of kids who have been taught the modern way to play football with a young manager. What a waste of a season this is turning out to be.
Errr.........have to agree. Sorry about this, but after today I'm more convinced than ever. Personally I'm gald this fallacy of "Fortress CCS" has now gone - it was straw clutching at the best. I can only recall the home games vividly as they're the only ones I've sat through and watched in the flesh. We needed last gasp goals from Vassell and Hoilett to beat Luton and Huddersfield for a start. Against Middlesbrough we needed them to score an own goal for us to take it, and the other wins wins against QPR and Brum were very fortunate despite the positive scorelines. We were outplayed by QPR but somehow managed to bundle in 3 goals, and Brum should have been 3-0 before we had that dubious penalty award. Looking at the draws against Fulham and Sheff Wed, we were overun by Fulham and probably need Arter to be sent off to get anything, and it took a free kick by Tomlin at the death to earn a point against Wednesday. This is pretty dire stuff dressed up in such a way as to ignore the obvious - we are just not good enough. If Neil isn't going to do it himself, then someone at the club needs to grasp the nettle and go for it ourselves. Waiting until the summer is the weak option. In the light of this current rubbish, yes rubbish football, we must be more positive about the future and stop clinging to the past.
Calmed down a bit. I’ll always support and turn up to watch the City but it’s so frustrating when it’s so blindingly obvious this club is being held back by the refusal to adapt to modern day football. The owners have no footballing nous and the idea of Warnock being sensitive t upstairs to oversee the football side is a backward step. Bellamy said he tried to get kids into the first team. Warnock said they weren’t good enough. Bellamy is in Belgium with Kompany and 4-5 kids have broken through because they have been taught the modern game and been given their chance. Warnock allegedly will have a say in his replacement. Not sure that’s a good or a bad thing. Time will tell. Anyway here’s to not wishing my life away but May can’t come quick enough for me as a City fan.
With NW walking is a good start../..Young blood is the right way to go with a manager and players but you will still need a few experienced players..
Youth is the way forward. Young local lads. I’ll sacrifice promotion potential for mid table mediocrity whilst youngsters come through and gradually replace players like Peltier and Flint.
