As Comsec have twice managed to get it badly wrong at the KC, and it appears they won't be going away in the near future, I would suggest the club escort any further Comsec visitors with a senior club representative who can the decide whether the stewards are required. It strikes me that both of the incidents could have been resolved with a quiet and polite question at an appropriate moment from an intelligent person rather than the Gestapo tactics employed so far.
How is expressing a dislike of people listening to a radio at football matches be taken as a go at the city of Hull, the fans could live miles away and have no connection to Hull, except to a permanently offended, thin skinned type with a bigger sense of victim hood than a Scouser?
Poverty attracts fanatical football fans around the world. But not in Hull. For some strange reason a lot more visitors go to Naples than Hull. Which doesn’t say a lot about Hull and its attractions.
The G E Evans who thought England losing a World Cup Final was funny? You take everything as a slight on Hull. Strange for someone from a rough, tough, working class city to be so delicate.
The statement released by the Club - as promised I have copied you all in HULL CITY WISH TO ISSUE A STATEMENT FOLLOWING A SPOT CHECK INVOLVING ONE OF OUR SUPPORTERS AT THE WEST BROMWICH ALBION MATCH ON SATURDAY. A supporter was questioned at the game by a representative from Comsec, who are managed by Football Data Co in collaboration with the League and its Clubs. Comsec carry out spot checks at stadiums in an attempt to stop unauthorised data collection, which is against ground regulations. The Club have raised concerns over the procedures in place, with it being the second incident of its kind this season. The enjoyment and safety of our supporters is of paramount importance and we do not wish to see any fan’s matchday adversely affected. The Club have communicated with all parties involved and put processes in place to prevent any further instances. We would also like to thank the supporter in question for their amicable cooperation in relation to this matter. Earlier suspicions about a change of stance by the club by me were unfounded and they remain supportive. They've offered us a couple of tickets to a game of our choice but more importantly have shared with us what actions they have taken to ensure that this can't happen again (can't share that because it has an effect on security but we are happy with what they have done)
