Care to elaborate mate? By pm if necessary. And I could never wish for Sam mate, that'd be the end of me attending.
Y'know that 'bump' from swapping managers. It happens because somebody fresh comes in and people sit up and go 'ok' lets give this a crack. The second time it happens, the response will be the same but maybe a little less. The third time it happens, the response will be a bit of an eye roll and a lot less commitment, the fourth time it happens you will barely notice it and the fifth time it happens people wont even look up from their phones unless Pep walks into the room. We aren't going to be getting Pep.
Appointing Allardyce would be a disaster. I think the next appointment needs to be more of a "fit" insofar that he needs to play attractive football. The only negative aspect of this is that I would gave thought that Ralph matched that description given by what was achieved last season. In the better matches, the did press and the performances certainly reflected the more piratical approach to football that Saints fans love. I am shocked by the transformation but maybe the results were more of a reflection of Rohl's involvement. Not surprised with today's news about Jaidi. An interesting and potentially development for Saints with the opportunity to re-fresh things as St Marys where the evolution within the academy has gone stale.
Seriously, do you see anyone on the horizon that you would say fits the bill Ian, that could deliver what you crave with the squad we have till Jan? I've seen the Rohl thing mentioned many times now. I'm struggling to understand what Rohl and Ralph did that Ralph was unable to understand. Did Ralph watch youtube in his office all day till Rohl left and then walked out and decide that bertrand had a funny ear so there was no way he was starting in his team? Or that the young RB has a weird accent so I'll put JWP at RB? It feels like the new Eric Black, that sure turned out to be a game changer. I suspect its not Rohl leaving but why Rohl left.
Ralph looks a beaten man...........and if he walks/gets sacked .....in our position who could we honestly get?
Sam probably. I highly doubt Gao has a large network of football contacts to feedback to him about potential managers and we don't even have a head scout or head of football operations do we? He'd probably tweet Jim White for suggestions ffs.
I very much regret to say he sounds like one too. Post match comments like ‘we’re not good enough’ are not helping. These same players were good enough last year, but switching players into unfamiliar positions, constant changes in the line-up are in my view counterproductive. I’m a very reluctant ‘change the manager’ person, this applied to the last three managers incidentally, but think that something needs to happen, either with the coaching team being improved or, the manager. He looks and sounds a lonely person in a vicious league. If that’s being observed or felt by the players, well we all know that painful and so far, over the last 3 years, journey is not proving a success.
Not just last season, Ian, but he played free flowing attacking football in Germany too. Hence why I think there’s far more to this than just Ralph.
