It's all about opinions Jerry! We have different ones and you don't really need to try to force yours. I love Morecambe and Wise, Les Dawson and Fawlty Towers.

Agree mate. Particularly the first two series, before they got pulled for being 'too violent'.

Almost all crime drama (except the Blacklist) is just the same. Find the crime, identify the main suspect, make the viewer think they are guilty - find alternative slant, find a much more likely suspect, arrest the first person you questioned as a witness!!! Old cop shows are miles ahead in writing

    Buffy the vampire slayer.
    Battlestar Galactica.
Dr Who, until Russell T Davies left. Since then it's slowly gone downhill.
And a word for MASH the film. 50 years old next year. Astonishing piece of work.

Wish they would still show Hancock, Bilko and the Laurel and Hardy films at around 9.25am on BBC 2 like they used to.

I think if Fawlty Towers had a more sympathetic main character then I would have maybe liked it more. I like a good anti-hero but Basil Fawlty was just a twat.

I suspect that some are finding it difficult to compare two different genre's.

    M&W are Stand Up comedians.

John Cleese is an actor who does comedy.

However, in defence of Cleese, he was brilliant playing the, more or less, straight role to Les Dawson in his shows, and without him the Python sketches were not as good as those with him.
