So we’re in the FA Cup First Round, what a comedown! I’m going for a 1-1 draw and defeat back at their place subsequently. Let’s just hope we can avoid too many injuries, yellow cards, etc
Will be interesting to see how serious PL takes it. With no league game for a couple of weeks, can see it being quite strong. I reckon keane will come in for norwood, and probably Huws and dozy in the middle. Right back will be interesting..does he have any faith in Donacien..or will Edwards carry on. Either way, I think it'll be a boring 1 nil...and the monkey firmly off our backs
Hopefully we can get a win, then through the next round & onto a big money game with one of the big boys, Bournemouth away
Usual FA Cup day, rip the guts out of the side and if we lose say we have more important matters to attend to, total disrespect to the competition and the fans who have gone to the match.
Yeah, kind of annoying that we don't field a slightly stronger side. I thought that maybe Lambert would be the one to realise that with our terrible record in the FA cup over the past decade that the fans really want a win today. He has recognised many other things wrong at Ipswich since he arrived but hasn't got this right...unless we win of course.
Well alright then, another rinse and repeat match today. Crap first half, better second half, we'll just have to take the draw and hope we can do the business in the replay.
With us postponing games due to international breaks, I really don’t think we need another extra game. We should have either played the 1st team and go for the win or just given up & lost
I genuinely think we should always try to win every game at a club like Ipswich Town. A good run in the cup is never impossible and if we always had that outlook we’d have got to a few more cup finals over the years.
There have been some massive changes for the better at the Club resulting in a reconnect with the fans, I just can't help thinking PL missed an opportunity to demonstrate to us the reversal of the negativity of the previous seasons by fielding our strongest side and actually winning an FA Cup tie what a statement of intent that would have been. So now we have a replay that nobody wants and yet another season of Cup failure, somebody tell him that it really does matter to us.
I found it very odd too - especially as we don't have a league game for two weeks, and with the irrelevant game at Colchester tomorrow where he could've fielded an understrength side. Very poor decision in my opinion. We now have to play a replay next Wednesday, when a number of our fringe players will still be away on international duty, which means regular first teamers will have to play, and thats 3 days before an important, and tough, league fixture away to *Blackpool
Changing all ten outfield players was certainly an odd decision and led to a very disjointed first half.It took all of 50 minutes before we started to get it together and a better penalty by Walker would have seen us out at the first hurdle.
Totally agree with all my respected friends comments on this. We have won the flippin Cup, I was there! We have sort of form, yet to field a weakened disjointed side, will leave us exposed at Oxford. I noted this fixture 3 weeks ago and thought, hmm, we will trip up there. Just a crack in Paul's otherwise strong suit of armoury. He needs to learn or be told by someone pdq! This weary 70 year old gaffer is going to drive up Suffolk some time soon. Bunting please!
