The Hornets have failed to win in each of their opening 11 games and sit rooted to the bottom of the table with just five points so far, having scored just six goals – the division’s lowest amount. Things aren’t much better for Daniel Farke’s Norwich who, after some promising early showing this season, sit 19th and just two points ahead of Friday’s opponents after losing five of their six games since a shock win over Manchester City in September. Who can win out in this Premier League basement battle? Or will it be a tense, nervous affair where both sides earn a relatively useless draw? Norwich really have struggled since that win over Man City but one player who cannot be blamed is Emiliano Buendia. While his teammates have looked hapless and hopeless, the Argentine has continued to lay on chances at a remarkable rate, proving a threat for any opposition. He will need a repeat of that again on Friday, although he will surely be looking to those around him to start chipping in too. Watford are desperately short of goals, so the return to fitness of Troy Deeney after knee surgery will be a massive boost for Quique Sanchez Flores. The 31-year-old is strong enough to outfight any Premier League centre-back, while his underrated ball-playing skills bring others into play and give the Hornets a great platform to get up the pitch. He will be itching for minutes against the division’s second-worst defence. Teams News. Centre-backs Timm Klose (knee ligament damage), Grant Hanley (groin injury) and Christoph Zimmermann (foot injury) are all out for Friday’s game, leaving Farke desperately short of defensive options. Alex Tettey may once again have to fill in at centre-back. Teemu Pukki hasn’t scored since September but is expected to start. Deeney has returned from the minor knee operation he had in August and Flores may be tempted to throw him straight back into the action as he desperately tries to find more goals for his side. Etienne Capoue and Ismaila Sarr have both returned to training but are unlikely to be ready in time for the trip to Carrow Road. WHEREVER YOU ARE IN THE WORLD -ENJOY THE GAME
Deeney has travelled with the team to Norwich A decision will be made tomorrow how long he can take part Probably either start for 60 minutes or come on as a sub with 20 or 30 minutes to go Holebase and Prodl available as well, could be an important night for us
Not seen Dave on here yet wishing the very best of luck to the Golden Boys I wonder why? Dave Good luck for the rest of the season apart from against us
I will not be a hypocrite, all I will say is that win, lose or draw, we will still all be friends. Let's hope for no VAR shenanigans
Exactly this, every match I go to, my single wish is that it is a good game that neither side can claim to be hard done by with a referee or VAR decision. I want us to win but I can stomach losing as long as we play well and I dont think we have been 'cheated'. I say this knowing that we all have our own slant on each and every decision, but we should adjudge the decisions with a reasonable head on. I pray for a win tonight, because we are nearly 1/3 or the way through the season and we need to get some points on the board. Dave, you give us the three points tonight and IF we are safe in April you can have them at our place - Deal??
I am wearing my lucky yellow dial watch today, we have never lost since I bought it, then again we have never won either!
Sorry Dave, but I've got to hope the canary is well and truly stuffed, cooked on gas mark 5 Delia style
Normally I would say good luck for the rest of the season but I can see both teams trying desperately to reach the life raft. I cannot deny the canaries are one of the major rivals. What has happened to Pukki, he was so good at the start of the season ?
Our horrific injury list, mainly defenders has dried up the supply to Pukki, he still works very hard making good attacking runs but doesn't get the final ball. We have Mario Vrancic available for tonight, if he can hit the ground running it could make all the difference
Saw that - wonder who will have the bigger impact. Him or Troy? - who might well start on the bench . I can see it being a draw which wouldn't suit either team .
This is really my home game. I live about a mile and a half from Carrow Road. The city council always put on a big fireworks display at 7pm for Guy Fawkes and it happens to be tonight. They close of the centre of town to vehicles from 5.30 to 8pm. The display should start at 7pm. I am taking my boy to see them from Britannia Barracks ( Dave will know where that is ) and then when finished will walk to the game. I expect to be about 15 mins late, but I cannot disappoint a small boy. Just bad luck for me this year. Perhaps we will be 3-0 up by the time I get there and I will miss all the goals.
Good evening everyone. As has been said both teams have a lot to play for tonight. Enjoy the game, may the best team win and both teams put in a performance. Currently looking for a stream, should be one as it is televised.
