The IRC Appeal panel must have understood that the fact that a player gets badly injured in the aftermath of a tackle doesn't have any relevance to whether the tackle was using excessive force or endangering him. In exactly the same way a player NOT being injured doesn't prove the tackle didn't endanger him. Best wishes to Andre Gomes.
Asstro will be fuming that the appeal panel obviously does not understand the meaning of 'endangered'
What I’m wondering is does this mean that Son escapes Scott Free? The tackle deserved a yellow, but Twatkinson seems to have blown it with the red.
It was made up...no where in the rules does it say that you can give a yellow card out and less than a minute later give out a red for the exact same incident. I have seen a ref give a yellow for a foul and then immediately give a red for the plsyer doing something else like kicking the ball away or dissent etc but in this case he simply decided to give a yellow and a red for the same offence. I suspect him making up rules on the spot is why the appeal was successful.
Yep I got that fella, and like I said, I was just returning a few friendly missiles as footy banter as deep down I know your a solid ninth every year... nailed on on a serious note, Ive been following football for too long to think that our forthcoming games against you are a given, far from it ! I’m as nervous as fook every game we play, I guess deep down I am just enjoying the ride for as long as it lasts matey and it’s nice to have a few “ bragging rights “ over some of the more illustrious teams
