I expect we'll be punished, as it wasn't anything remotely racist. A lot of the Red Star fans were really obvious about their allegiances, so they shouldn't have got in. I saw a couple of Dortmund fans turned away at Wembley for similar behaviour. This shouldn't have been easier for the visiting fans, considering their ban.
please log in to view this image Wednesday 6th November 8pm Champions League Group Stage Rajko Mitić Stadium Two more away games in the league without any joy, so we return to the Champions League to see if we can find any there. We'll have to raise our game from the dire showing at Goodison though, as Red Star are quite formidable at home. They're currently unbeaten there this season in all competitions, having beaten Olympiakos 3-0 in their previous home group game. The 55,538 capacity stadium will be near full, fired up and quite intimidating, as Liverpool found out last year as they lost 2-0. Can our fragile side handle it and repeat the home performance that put them to the sword or will they crumble? Our hosts have had three matches since we met at our ground and they won them all, scoring ten and only conceding once. A win in this game would put us very much in charge of our own destiny, as we face Olympiakos at home in the next fixture. We really could do without having to get anything from Bayern when we visit them in game six. They may have parted ways with their manager, but we found out exactly how dangerous they can be in the home match. No injury or fitness news yet, but Lloris is still out long-term, while Rose returns from suspension. Kane and Son have traveled with the squad: Lineups for each side's last league game: Spurs: Gazzaniga; Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Davies; Sissoko, Ndombele; Son, Eriksen, Alli; Moura. Subs: Vorm, Foyth, Dier, Winks, Lo Celso, Sessegnon, Parrott. League form: LWLDLD. Red Star: Borjan; Gajic, Pankov, Milunovic, Rodic; Garcia, Canas, Vulic, Simic; Marin; Pavkov. Subs: Popovic, Babic, Degenek, Jovancic, Jevtovic, Krstovic, Baokye. League form: WWWWWW. Referee: Carlos del Cerro Grande (ESP). Relatively experienced Spanish ref, though he hasn't had that many European games. Sent off Otamendi in City's win over Schalke last season. Not taken charge of any of our fixtures. TV: BT Sport 2. How would you like to line up for this one and what would you change from the Everton game? Would you make wholesale changes, tinker slightly or leave things alone? Do you think that Son should take part? Who would you select if both he and Kane are absent?
If Son doesn’t play because of Gomes injury then I’ll be disgusted. This is a must win game and Spurs need everyone possible.
He's a human being. If he's not ready, then he's not ready. All the disgust in the world won't change that fact.
He’s paid tens of thousands a week to play football. Yes it was an horrible injury to see but he shouldn’t be missing important games because of it
Son probably won't play. Gazza Foyth, Dave, Dier, Davies Sissoko, Tanguy Lucas, Gio, Dele Kane If Sess is lucky he might get three minutes of game time.
I reckon we'll see Rose back in the side as Davies sadly did nothing to cement his place in the team against Everton. Dave is getting demonstrably better the more game time he gets - one of the few bright points on sunday was how well he marshalled Richarlison. Jan and Lamela both face late fitness tests according to Alasdair Gold. I also have a horrible feeling he'll rotate Winks for Tanguy. Sort of thing Poch is doing at the moment. I'd like to see: Gazza Foyth Toby Dave Rose Sissoko Tanguy Lucas Lo Celso Alli Kane Subs: Vorm, Jan, Aurier, Dier, Winks, Son, Sess
Could have been worse. Remember when United broke Dave Mackay's leg in a European match. He was out for practically two seasons and never the same after that. I don't remember Noel Cantwell sent off (or booked?)!
Fair enough but we need him and need the points. I can’t see how him playing or not playing ‘helps’ him get over it.
If Son isn't traumatised then he is fit to play. If he is traumatised then he isn't. How much money he gets paid is completely irrelevant. Trauma is strange and affects different people in different ways.
