Charbel could be a danger to all today in the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter today. Sometimes horses need a run after a wind surgery so wouldn't say the Chepstow run last time after a break was bad. Refitted headger could spark a revival. What do you think about the Haldon today?
i agree , the ivy grower has his chasers in top order , and last season charbel needed his first run , won his second . gods own will make a race of it , so it’s a rf for me lads !
I see Prince Of Arran failed by a nose , to win the big pot in melbourne , still 2nd will pay handsomely .
Really like Exeter racecourse and they have good facilities for owners and trainers. One day I will go for Haldon Gold Cup day.. Its a no bet for me..but i like Dolos in the race as think he could improve somewhat this season.
Frankie banned for 9 days too for his barge on Il paradiso even tho Wayne Lordan said it didn’t really affect him
Hello again, team. Really like one running this evening and I would be expecting a decent price as well (25/1 currently available). As a yearling this one, now a 3YO incidentally, went through the old sales ring for a cool 425,000 guineas and was purchased by Godolphin. He though had just the one woeful run for them in March of this year, in France when trained by old boy Andre Fabre, prior to being put back through the sales ring (was fancied that day though, on debut, and went off at just 4/1). However. that second sale saw his price plummet to just 13,000 guineas (cor blimey you don’t have to be dear old Carol Vorderman to work out that was a substantial loss for Godolphin). The horse has had 2 runs for current connections and these can at best be described as ‘poor’ but as a result he has now been given an extremely low rating of just 52. Today is his handicap bow (7.40 Kempton Park) – something I’ve been waiting over 2 months for. To date DEVIZES, for that is he, has been running over 9-10 furlongs but at Kempton Park he will be going over 16 furlongs and I would expect that the step up in trip will bring about a huge amount of improvement. On lineage he should relish the extra distance as the dam (Dalasyla) is a half-sister to Dalampour (won the Group 3 ‘Queen’s Vase’ at Royal Ascot over 2 miles). She is also a half-sister to old boy Daliapour who was 2nd in both ‘The Derby’ and the ‘Irish Derby’ and won the Group 1 ‘Coronation Cup’ – so Class with a capital ‘C’ certainly exists within the family. Meanwhile, to further back up how the step up in trip will aid Devizes - Dalasyla is out of Dalara who won the Group 2 ‘Prix de Royallieu’ over 14 furlongs. Must confess that I know next to nothing about the yard where Devizes, what a lovely name for a gelding by the way, is barned (this is so not an ‘I’ve been told…’) – beyond the fact that that the trainer shares his moniker with a former ‘Coronation Street’ resident. Albeit a serial killer – is that a good or a bad omen…you decide! But the stable’s penultimate runner, on the all-weather at Kempton Park, did oblige at 16/1. I appreciate this isn’t a bet for everyone based on the risk factor and the poor formline of -707. However, I personally think that is offset by the anticipated improvement Devizes will incur by stepping up in trip, his excellent pedigree, the decent odds and most importantly of all his very, very low perch. Would certainly recommend an each-way wager on Devizes, people.
Becky expecting a decent run tonight on Blue Medici 20:20 Kempton has won on him 3 times this year and will be disapointed if not placed Stay Frosty
I always think that Halton Cup day is the best Tuesday NH day outside of the festival. janika looks a worthy favourite in the Gold Cup but expect Lalor to run him close. paddleyourowncanoe in the novices chase
