I think if you read my posts,( if your able to) you will see that I do not talk pure "bollix" and am quite a balanced supporter capable of being objective and certainly not rose tinted on club players or issues.
Reading through your own that does not appear to be the case son, nothing to do with having a high opinion of myself or anyone else lad.
Get a grip of yourself, just because you splashed out a few quid of the replica jersey with Torres on the back you do not have to carry the burden for life, let it go son. <rofl>

There you go again with your juvenile quips "son",what part of me not giving a toss about Torres dont you understand?

You claim to be "balanced" and somehow very grown up,and then you go and blow it all with your childish "replica jersey" bs at the end.

    :)

<laugh> You've got to question whether he's the one with a Van Persie replica jersey!!

Don't you think it's a little bit sad that you are still not able to get over a player that no longer wanted to play for your club, that happens to every team no matter how big the club. I'd have no problem with having a RVP jersey(though I don't), he still plays for Arsenal unlike Torres. Let him go, as far as what we all seen at the weekend you got off lightly, he is a laughing stock after that miss, truly sad to see a once decent player unable to hit the an open goal from 6 yards out. You have still got Carroll, he's playing ok and looks a snip.

For someone "balanced" and all grown up your being very confrontational and very crude.

Torres had a slight blip yesterday.

His usual Chelsea form will return soon enough.

Absolutely no problem with that, never had one.
I'd certainly argue that as a case but in his prime Torres was certainly arguably a better player/goalscorer.
2 totally different type of players.

He was fantastic in his first couple of seasons for us. Genuinely, since Henry, had never seen a striker as enthralling to watch. I looked forward to every game watching the lad play, as he could literally do anything.

The problem was, in his last 18 months he simply grew fed up. Whether that was because he was annoyed at having to lead the line and the pressure, not challenging enough for trophies (our club sold various first team players) or whether he just needed a challenge I'm still unsure.

I'm thinking he may even be fed up with football itself. My personal opinion is he needs a couple of months from the spotlight, but that's too difficult for someone who cost their current club £50 million.

If you look at it from a different perspective (and I appear to be making excuses for him here), he has come into a £hel$ea side on the decline and in need of some re-investment. He also struggled for us because of the lack of quality around him, and with injuries here and there.

I had zilch respect for him on a personal note when he made comments about not supporting us (we were led to believe he was a massive red), and babbling on about becoming someone finally.

From a professional point of view, he's a top player who is going through an almighty slump. He's someone who has lost faith in their own ability and needs to get back to basics. He needs to be the star player in a star team, but I'm thinking there's going to be too much pressure on him this season because of his price tag.

Similarities to him and Carroll can be drawn. Huge price tags, big players for their teams but just can't handle it at the moment.

Just because you don't want to believe it, doesn't mean it's untrue. Newcastle would have sold him for £1 million. Like it or not.

Liverpool were massively ripped off. Before you give me that crap that Liverpool upped the price on Torres to ensure they had the funds to buy a replacement... Why the frig was Carroll the choice?

    Mugs.

    :emoticon-0109-kiss:

You honestly think Carroll was offered to clubs for £1 million the season before he was sold for £35 million? Go on then, tell us who he was offered to...

Or are you reliant on the Daily Mirror or Mike Ashley for that evidence?

I'm not bitter. I know we've paid over the odds for the bloke. Why the "frig" was Carroll the choice? No idea, possibly because Dalglish and Comolli thought he would fit what they were looking for?

An England international. A 23 year old. Re-sale value so even though we could potentially sell at a big loss, we'll make at least half back. Hindsight is brilliant, it's fantastic in fact. In hindsight, £hel$ea wouldn't have spent the money they did on Torres...

What's worse? I'm playing devil's advocate here. Spending £50 million on a 27 year old who hadn't done anything in close to 2 years, or spending £35 million on a good player who can only get better? Who is only 23?

Like I said, I admired Torres for the player he was. Now I'm trying to accustom myself to your opinion.

Oh, and if we're bringing up *transfer mistakes*, everyone makes them. Even "Sir" Alex. Bare in mind Carroll has only been with us since January, in which point there's been a 3 month break and we've bought close to an entire new squad.
