Well I'm guessing like everyone else, but I reckon it may be this scenario:
    • FPP want to takeover the running of the club. Donald and Methven state that they want to stay on
    • Yanks weigh that up and say "Okay, we'll not put the big money in yet. We'll see how you run the club this season, and in particular, see how you manage the transfer budget and the enhancement of the academy. To help you, we'll loan you £10 Million. You make a success of it, then we'll be satisfied that you can continue to run things. Fail and we bring our own people in next season."

Exactly they must have future plans it's **** all amount of money to them but can't see them treating us like a tramp in the street and giving them a 10a to get some scran.

These are elite businessmen who would have gone over us with a fine tooth comb maybe found a few things and said sort it out.. Once you have, we will take over and have our names fully registered. If there are some skeletons in the closet I'd presume they would rather SD and CM took the flak rather than themselves as their image will be major to them. These guys manage crazy amounts of money and if they are made to look stupid... people will think twice.

If they had been shown up to be fooled over some football thing in the UK they would be laughed at in the States and these lads aren't stupid and wouldn't allow that to happen.

Another possible scenario.. I can't think of anything negative about this whole situation, think my ban ended on RTG today as well but haven't been over as will be some proper fannys trying to find something negative.

My ban ended on Nov 1st but I'm not inclined to post tbh.

It's noticeable that the Wums have almost all stopped posting because they can only snipe at other people's threads/posts/opinions but are incapable of posting any of their own.

Some good crack over there but more in the SMB section in regards to football this forum is much better.

Real fans who probably the majority actually attend the games and not just slag the lads off without even watching the match.

Any benefit of the doubt you got on your intentions, agenda and conspiracy theories has long since set sail... That's why.

You don't have to like it but you've tucked yersel in I'm afraid.

I find it hard to believe lads on here accept we have had investment of £10mill that's like me giving my mate a loan of 80p i honestly think it will be £30 or £40 mill and more likely more which is still just chicken feed to them lads but what's the point of letting people know we would of ended up paying £15 mill for bloody Grigg<doh>

You might well be right about that, there's absolutely no reason to let everyone else know how much has been put in because it can only push up prices if it's a lot. Play it low key, keep schtum and ignore anyone who's trying to find out the ins and outs.

The quoted figure is "an eight figure sum". That could be anything between £10,000,000 and £99,999,999. Just saying.................

10m could just be dipping their toes in the water.
They get access to far more data than they ever had before and it allows them to look at the real potential. If it is like the money they invested in the Marlins it will be based on getting it back with interest after x years or Donald has to give up all or part of his shares.
10m is likely to be working capital for us and unlikely to be used solely for buying players.
Buying players means nothing if you have a clueless manager. Just ask man utd since fergie left.
We should have enough players to get promotion right now. Charlton, luton and others with far less have done it 8n the very recent past.
Next year if we do get promoted we will need to spend.

You're right. Definitely can only see the positives in this. However, for reasons better known to them, there will be people armed with metal detectors, determined to find a negative! <doh>

Did they also teach you to pull imaginary figures out of the air in answer to your maths questions?

There seems to be quite some debate about the actual figure ...

... I'd see it as somewhat irrelevant tbh.
