Any of you lads been into video games back in the day? I was. Had all the early consoles. Seen the below chart on social media and it brought back memories of waiting for Woolies to open to go buy the new titles when they first came out. This was pre internet and I’d go back there in a heartbeat.
Bubble bobble was great to play as well as Rainbow Islands. Also loved the usual PAC Man, Galaxian, Space Invaders. Favourite old style game for me was Eye of the Beholder which was a D&D game.
I've got this weird ocd-esque thing when it comes to technology. When I know a game is out of date for example, I can't play it anymore. For example i love GTA Vice City, But since GTA V is out it's just unplayable for me. I wish I could get over it cos them retro games are brilliant. I'm waiting for Red Dead 2 to come out for PC this Tuesday. Like a giddy teenager again.
I still play on Vice City now and again, love it, best GTA for me. But I've tried playing San Andreas again and can't get back into it. Love RDR2, brilliant game
I've been waiting for it to come out on PC for a year now, even upgraded in preparation. Cannot ****ing wait.
Got one of these for Xmas when I was a kid. It was shared between 4 brothers! Manic miner was soooo addictive. Later on got into pc games. Duke nukem and quake were two of the best. I used to play death matches against my brother in law, he'd be in one room, me in the other. Excellent fun.
I started with the Amiga 1200 with The Secret of Monkey Island. Pre-internet but there was a phone helpline - premium rate costs didn't exactly stop me finding out what to do next.
reminds me of when I secretly charged my mums card with a Runescape subscription when I was a kid. She basically ripped my bedroom door off the hinges.
It's really good. Going to take me 5 years to complete at the rate I get through games these days though absolutely massive. Love all the random stuff you come across in it all the time.
