It’s been obvious all our players are guilty of overplaying the play in and around oppositions penalty box. Even if they eventually get a shot away, defenders and keeper have lots of time to get their blocks in. All too a familiar sight in all our games. Yesterday was a perfect example how to score two proper goals. Roberts hit his first time, no one time to get in a block. Had he taken a second touch chance would’ve been gone. Similar with Harrison, he struck it first time albeit a far easier chance. Bamfords one on one was a blown opportunity through overplaying. Rather have seen him balloon it over the bar but at least get a shot in. Do we have a striker coach to teach each and every one of them this simple idea?

Bamford is guilty a lot of that. Maybe it’s also confidence, or fear of being the twat that hits the top of the stand or the corner flag.

When he doesnt have time to think he usually scores, as per his header yesterday, which was actually on side. Even if he was level level means on :emoticon-0148-yes:

My main issue is the percentage of shots we do get off which fly over the bar. Has nobody heard of getting their head over the ball to keep it down?

I caught highlights of a Man City game recently and was struck by the amount of shots on target, it highlighted Leeds' main failing to me - they might not all have been net busters but the majority were low shots, and if you at least force the keeper/defender to make the save you never know what might happen.

I just can't get my head round the % that don't hit the target.

I may have been imagining it but I remember that Robbie Keane always seemed to hit the target. No idea what his stats were but I remember thinking that he had so many shots at goal he was bound to score a few.
Someone may prove me wrong since it was just an impression I got watching him. :)

He was on target in the premiership with about half of his shots. As a comparison James Vardy is on a shot accuracy of 49% and Salah is currently on 45%

    Robbie Keane

At Leeds, he scored one goal on average every 192 minutes, 2 and a bit games, about the same as Vardy but not as good as Salah at one goal every 1.58 games

So about right with your memory but a premier league player not a championship one.

Bugged me last season, become worse in 2019/20.

Against QPR we didn't fanny about so much as both goals were hit both time

We still should have score at least five times

That’s the point I was making about all our attackers. Stats from Keane, vardy and salad are great but that’s all they are. They’re all world class, ours aren’t. Nobody to blame, just the facts of life for us now. But given the lesser ability and lack of goals surely emphasis should be on coaching to dtrike ball first time at every opportunity when in or around the penalty area

Bamfords offside goal would be arguable. The highlights I watched says he could of been, or wasn't, depends on linemans interpretation.

New rules say only the hands and arms may be further forward than the last opposing player in the opposing half. If Bamfords head, leg or shoulder is further forward than the last opposing player then it's deemed offside.....:emoticon-0148-yes:

Especially in wet conditions Davy. I agree the amount of shots going wide or over are bad to say the least.<ok>
