Absolute living legend. The greatest British sportsman of all time and increasingly an absolute top bloke and role model too!

Well Done Lewis, 6 time World Champion!

There have been a lot of good races this year and hopefully with the new regulations coming in, it'll become more competitive. The prototypes of the new cars looking stunning as well.

There was a comment over the weekend on sky that teams will already be looking for ways to push the rules :emoticon-0102-bigsm

He's getting better with age, the best drivers matured into the champions they became. Imagine how good Senna would have become with wisdom and maturity combined with his incredible speed. I hope Lewis keeps the hunger cos we've got the young guns coming through like Leclerc and Albon and the future looks good for the sport.

Won his 6th title at the same age as Schumacher won his 6th. Very unspectacular in his last two races for me from a racing perspective (and I'm talking about racing here not driving). I'm sure he would have loved to have won today to clinch the title but he knew he didn't need to but it didn't stop him trying.

I feel fortunate to have seen the senna, prost, Alonso, Schumacher, Vettel and now Hamilton era's. None are comparable alongside each other in my opinion, they are all legends and rightly so in their own time.

For me there is something different about Hamilton which I've not seen since senna. I can see it in Max and LeClerc but they both need some polishing which will come with time. Next year I think is gonna be Hamilton's toughest. Red bull this year are in a transition period with the Honda engine, similarly Ferrari with the changing of the guard with LeClerc and Vettel. Both of whom are gonna be very strong next year. Exciting times ahead and I cant wait to see how things pan out in 2021. I have a funny feeling that Adrian Neweys experience may well give Red Bull a bit of a head start......that guy is an absolute wizard!!

That's pretty much how F1 works every single year/revision to be fair like.

We now have some phenomenal drivers for next season - Hamilton, Vettel, Leclerc, Verstappen, Bottas on his day, Ricciardo if he can get a competitive drive, the McLarens are slowly coming back as well. I don’t think it’ll be as dominant for whoever wins next season.

    Top bloke and role model?!

Sorry like, but he's the biggest prima donna on the grid. The second he isn't in the lead or one of the other cars happens to be quicker he's having a whinge on the radio.

He's only magnanimous when he gets his own way, it's all lip service for the media, all this blessed nonsense.

Not questioning his talent, that is apparent, but he's a bit of a knob. He rides a scooter so he can't be stopped for interviews/selfies/autographs, none of the other drivers do that. He swerved team orders in the race in the US, and not for the first time. In Belgium he had a right whinge at his team for 'ending his race' because they pitted him too early in his opinion. Turned out to be the perfect strategy and he got second against two quicker cars. At the end he was full of praise for the team. Bloke's no role model.

Great driver. Not a pleasant person.

Lando Norris has the potential to be challenging at the top, if he continues to improve. He's a really nice lad as well. I've spoken to him a few times and he just seems to be a normal lad, with his feet firmly on the ground.

Very subjective to state that he is 'the greatest British sportsman of all time. I can think of three who I believe deserve that accolade over Hamilton. Sir Steve Redgrave.... perhaps the greatest Olympian ever. Sir Nick Faldo, 6 Majors and numerous titles. Held the world number 1 spot for a then record number of weeks. Chris Froome...4 Tour de France, Veulta and Giro. He held each title at the same time which in cycling terms is remarkable.

For me Hamilton isn't even close to them. I would admit I love F1 and think he's.a great driver but just don't rate him ahead of the others mentioned.

I don't think you can overstate how good he is. Cars are easier to drive, but he regularly pulls out single laps in quali that rank alongside the mythical Villeneuve laps from the seventies in the rain, or drives that equal Senna at his peak. The flip side of everything getting better in terms of technology, is that a lot of drivers fade into the pack (Vettel for example) when their rivals are in similar cars.

You look at the qualifying pole lap from Singapore in 2018 and it's mystifying. A car not suited to the track, Ferrari supposed to be miles ahead, and Hamilton was .3secs faster than verstappen and 6 tenths over Vettel. Bottas in the same car was 7 tenths down. Then the wins in the rain, the gut feel that makes him demand more of the team etc and they respond.

I love how much people say he's a nob, or that he's a nightmare and petulant, when you see the way his team react to him. They love him and he seems like a nice lad, just a bit... well, let's just say, confused :)

Wouldn’t dream of having a dig at Hamilton, he’s obviously a good driver but isn’t a lot of his success due to being in the best car?

Quite possibly, but I bet he couldn’t win in a McLaren or a Williams.
