I hate Liverpool and love seeing them have **** decisions go against them... but this is NOT OFFSIDE. please log in to view this image
Seen another video where a Goal bound shot is stopped by a villa hand which by today’s rules is nailed on penalty . Looks another successful day for the system
Even ****ed up the rugby clear forward pass for the South Africans first try (the pass before he kicked it)
Even the telly pundits, who used to love it, now think it should be scrapped. It’s a ****e system administered by clowns like Mike Riley. It’s backed by people who know **** all and understand **** all about football. Unfortunately it’s here to stay.
it was bound to be a **** up - if they're a **** ref why would they be any better if they see it on the telly
It's been said before (and more eloquently than I can manage). VAR was created for TV and the betting syndicates. It ruins the game for the supporters in the stadium. If we ever have to play a match where VAR is used I would seriously consider giving up on going to games.
That was an absolute disgrace. As clear a dive as you'll ever see, but they spent however many minutes desperately trying to find a reason to give a penalty instead of booking him. Ultimately he was rewarded for diving. The game's gone.
We're talking more about VAR than we were ever complaining about refs. That just shows that it's failing.
They should scrap it and introduce a 'challenge' type system. Each manager has one challenge a match. If he disagrees with a decision the manager makes a signal and the VAR officials have a look at it on their screens. Maximum of 2 stoppage a match and the managers will have to be clever and not waste their challenge on something trivial.
Agreed. It seems that the apparent incorrect decisions outweigh the errors it was implemented to resolve. This may just be because we are more forgiving of spur of the moment error compared to video replayed incompetence. Currently, it adds nothing and detracts further from the game.
Still wouldn't fix it though. If Watford used one of their 'challenges' for that penalty they got yesterday and it was awarded on review, it'd still be a disgrace. The big problem is having this arbiter which is treated as all-knowing but routinely gets things wrong.
The fact that VAR is managed in house by the same refs on the pitch really doesn't help matters. If it is going to have any chance to progressing positively, it has to be dealt by independents.
The only way it would really work in a way that I would agree with every decision is if I did it. ...and I don’t want to So that’s it. #KickItOut
I see VAR has even stopped Klopp from getting excited when he was asked about being less animated after a goal today he said something along the lines of ‘Its not the same anymore...you can celebrate after but why waste my energy when you know there will be a review’
