Seb Polter just scored an injury time penalty winner for Union in the Berlin derby. It's a massive game, because it's the first time that Union and Hertha have played each other in the Bundesliga.
Not worth it's own thread but Watford now 11 games winless. Wonder what the chance of them beating Sparky's record is?
That is probably the worst broken leg ever. In all fairness to Son it wasn't that bad, but Gomez landed unfortunately.
Horrible, reminiscent of the David Buust leg break some years ago. Could well be a career ending moment. Poor fellow.
Didn't seem that bad to me, certainly not worth a red card. I saw Martyn Busby break his leg. That was properly horrific.
I was there that night....now that was horrible.....he ended up in the next hospital bed to my father who was also recovering from a broken leg....A hospital between Larimer road & ladbroke grove....
Night game at Fulham I think it was the season we were promoted behind Burnley or the season before......anyway they had a centre half called Paul Went an uncompromising type of player a bit like Norman hunter....at the time Busby was seen as a better prospect than Gerry Francis and we were beginning to build our greatest ever side....Went tackled Busby in typical ball and player type tackle and resulted in Busby lying on the turf with the lower part of his leg at right angles to the rest of his leg, he had broken both bones. To be fair the Fulham goalkeeper ran over to Busby screaming at the ref to stop the game but it took a while for him to realise what was happening and allowing both sides medical staff onto the pitch..... Busby was never the same player after that....
watching Ajax last night you realise how far behind in quality we are and the dross we have to endure with this, sideways, backwards football we seem to see each week. Had Ajax had 11 men still on the pitch that result last night would've been completely different
