Henriksen has never been anything other than a consummate professional both on and off the pitch. I don’t envy his situation, he should be playing week in, week out at this level but then, he isn’t going to dislodge any of our current midfield given our form.

Rather than say “never again”, it would be nice to have him on the bench.

What would you add to the team in January to make us real top 6 contenders?

I still think we need a top striker to take some of the pressure off Bowen. It would mean spending money but hopefully the owners will realise what they missed out on last year by not investing at the right time.

I wouldn't add much, to be honest. Some proper cover for Lichaj at RB would be nice and maybe a bit of cover on the left wing for Grosicki if he gets injured. Neither of those would really mean spending a lot of money either. Maybe, if I was being greedy, I'd go for Maddison at Peterborough because I can't see Jon Toral lasting any length of time without getting injured and our two wingers, though they could probably fill in, would be wasted there. He has 8 goals and 6 assists in 14 games and is still only 26.

We have Eaves, Magennis, Balogh and KLP battling for the one striker spot, I think another would be overkill, especially given that we are now playing Bowen through the middle as well.

I suppose it depends on who leaves too. If, for example, Bowen, Grosicki or, nightmare scenario, both left, the money we received would have to be reinvested to maintain the quality. But we all know it wouldn't be.

I'd look to send Dan Batty out on loan as I think we're covered well enough in the CM midfield area and obviously Henriksen and Milinkovic will be leaving. That still leaves Honeyman, Lopes, Stewart, Irvine, Toral and young Elliot Bonds scrapping for 3 spots.

Every club in the country will be looking at bringing in a better striker in January.

Can I ask, and I'm sorry if this is personal, but how many times did Markus reverse over your dog? Because that's the only logical conclusion that I can draw from this irrational barrage of bilge you're chucking at him.

He isn't interested in his own bank account, he's sat in the stands on matchdays. He turns up for training like a professional. If he was ****ing it off and sat playing FIFA every day, I'd understand. He's still getting picked for Norway, so why is he to blame for his situation?

Oh shut up you prancing ****, you're making a fool of yourself.

He was never going to sign a new contract, he was stripped of the captaincy and told he was to be shipped out. Obviously he wouldn't sign a new deal if he was told he was being pushed out. Yet, despite that, he's turned up to training everyday with a smile on his face, even though he knows he isn't going to get picked. If you can't recognise professionalism and give praise when it's due, **** off.

Even the staff who aren't picking him have praised him for his attitude around the club, obviously that sort of behaviour is alien to you.

****ing pathetic. Sort yourself out man, you're better than this.

TBF it was both parties, he said he wanted to leave and the club also wanted him to leave. Terry planned without him as ALL parties expected him to move on. Yes he is being professional but he is under contract and has to turn up and train if he wants to get paid.

But he isn't obliged to accept the first offer that comes along. If the offer was from Bordeaux (as reported), a team much richer than City, it doesn't make sense he'd turn it down to go and play in a better league with better players for a higher wage. The offers that came in must've been ****ter, so he's well within his rights to stay and fight for a place if it's not the right deal for him and his family. Maybe he thought that McCann would relent and play him, obviously that hasn't happened so it's easy to see him leaving in January now he knows he won't get into the team.

But I'm not having abuse chucked at him for the decision, that isn't fair.

Regardless of discussing MH or whichever player - it comes down to this time and time again on this forum.

On par with the 'ooh I hope he doesn't sign for us cos we might ruin his career' line that was prevalent until now we're on the cusp of the top 6.

Let Henriksen go. He wouldn’t improve performances/results over our current 3 midfielders.

I’ve never rated him anyway. Neither does the gaffer. That’ll do for me. :emoticon-0148-yes::emoticon-0148-yes:

Great result yesterday. Best way to describe City's defensive performance yesterday was me being completely unaware that Knockaert, a competent Premier League player, was on the pitch during the 2nd half. Think we can call yesterday the perfect away performance. We contained them well and took our chances on the break. The 2nd goal came at the perfect time and really took the wind out of Fulham's sails (very well-take by Bowen as well). They were pressing us in the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half and we may have been vulnerable the longer it stayed 0-1. 3 wins on the bounce is always welcome in this inconsistent division but the calibre of opponents we have faced after two poor defeats makes this run of form encouraging. Should be a great game against WBA next weekend!

Just looked at the table from this time last year. After 15 games, we were 2nd from bottom with 15 points. Add to that the progress we've seen with De Wijs, Stewart and Burke over the last 12 months and the emergence of players like Long we look a better side than the one that was at its peak in the middle of last season.

I agree, this side feels comfortably Championship now. Given it's young average age, it'll only get better.

Agree. If McCann thought we needed him he'd be in the squad. No-one on here knows what has been said between Henrikson and the manager but his none appearance probably gives us an indication.
I'd actually forgot he was still at the club.
It also cannot be a bed of roses picking up x-amount of thousand pound a week for doing **** all, or for the fella signing the wage cheque.
