Why are Verstappen, Hamilton, and Kyvat going three wide into a corner in quali.

well well well, Bottas smashes it. I would've voted for him, honest, he seems to go well here.

Bit of an anticlimactic set of second runs, wasn’t it?

Hams obviously wrapping up for Christmas already. Three teams in top 3, fingers crossed for tomorrow.

The first Ferrari non pole since Hungary.
In unrelated news the FIA have released a new clearer directive on fuel flow after Red Bulls latest request.

I guess Ham doesn't care for poles anymore. Hasn't had one for a long time. And only 4 this season

    He don’t need em.

His main worry is being in the thick of the pack in turn 1. If he’s taken out and Bottas converts his pole then the only scenario that doesn’t end the championship plays out.

I'm guessing CLC told him poles contain animal products.

Stay and watch today’s race. I think it will be fun... Lewis will be aiming for the front and the front runners will be hoping to keep him behind. Hopefully we will see some real battles and race craft today.

This should bring us some fun. Let’s see who loses their cool today.

"Lewis f***** us all," said Verstappen over his radio, "so it's his f****** problem this is happening."

"We were all just slowing down to make space, or to get to the last corner," he added at the subsequent press conference, "and I think it was Seb, the first Ferrari, then Charles and then I had Dany in front of me and we were all just slowing down to make space, and Lewis just drove by like nobody was there and didn't care. So I was like: 'well, if you don't care, I don't care'. So I went to get my position back.

"I mean, everybody's just respecting each other at that point, just to start the lap. That's why it was such a close call."

"It's just a nothing," said Hamilton of the incident, which the stewards deemed as not needing investigation. "I was trying to keep temperature in my tyres, everyone was driving so slow.

"There are no rules or regulations that say you have to stay in single file," he added. "So I kept going and then he started to try and race me, which was fun."

Hamilton starts from fifth today, right behind Verstappen.

    Which should be "fun".

There seems to be a bit of talk about a technical directive on the fuel system. Now Lewis is suggesting Ferrari have lost some engine power! Coincidence?
Any one know any thing about what the tx said?

Should be pretty fun today if they don’t take each other out early. Bottas, Ham and Verstappen have the best race cars I think but of course Ferrari’s speed in the straight could play havoc.

Be interesting to see how the strategies play out.

Seems like Red Bull asked FIA about clarification on fuel usage (or something like that) and it seems like they have tightened the rule or something, but all of a sudden Ferrari seems to have lost that lightning speed on the straights.

This race is to set up to be good, if they're going to all wipe each other out at the start and ruin the race can they at least let Albon and the McLarens through unbroken.

I am hoping it's going to be a good one. I have even used my 1 day sky sports pass to watch on the big screen.

Is it obligatory to butcher the national anthem at all sporting events?

I thought it sounded a bit weird. At one point I thought it must be an anthem of Texas!
