    Dear Supporters,

As you may be aware, it was agreed at the October meeting of the Supporters’ Committee that a fan-led steering group would be formed to discuss the Club’s ticketing structure.

I would like to thank the members of the Supporters’ Committee for their enthusiasm and constructive input into the positive meetings that have already taken place and together we hope to have a new pricing structure agreed in the next two weeks.

As this won’t be ready in time for the West Brom game, and in the interest of keeping the momentum going, we would like to offer half-price match tickets for that game to all those supporters that purchased tickets for last Saturday’s home game against Derby County.

As this busy week of activity at Hull City comes towards its end, I hope that as many of you as possible have had the opportunity to attend one of the many events that have taken place here at the KCOM Stadium.

Our Half Term @ Hull City week, which has featured exclusive events for our Members as well as occasions to remember for our wider fan-base young and old, was designed to move the Club back closer to its supporters and it has been fantastic to see a lot of positive feedback over the last few days.

Of course, the flagship event of the week came last Saturday at our home game against Derby County when half-price tickets were available to all supporters. It resulted in our biggest home crowd since April 2018 being in attendance to see first-hand the good work that is being done by Grant McCann and the coaching staff with an exciting, talented and relatively young squad of players.

Added to our loyal Members, the extra numbers and increased volume undoubtedly played a part in the team producing an excellent performance and earning the thoroughly deserved win that we all wanted to see, making it back-to-back league victories in the process.

It would be tremendous to build on that, hence the decision to offer an incentive for those fans to return. It means that, once again, there is the opportunity to watch Sky Bet Championship football for as little as £13.50 for adults and just £4.50 for concessions. I appreciate that tickets for the West Brom fixture have already been on sale for some time so, if you have already bought yours, you can claim back the difference of the price you’ve paid – we will release information on how to do that via club channels.

It is important to stress at this point that offers such as this will not become commonplace and that being a Member continues to, and will always, be the most cost-effective way of watching Hull City in home action. However, as discussions continue with our steering group regarding ticket pricing, we are happy to offer a middle ground and hope to announce further details regarding our ticketing structure in the near future.

I would also like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to our current Members for your support of the Club over recent months and years, and for your understanding at times such as this as we look to increase numbers inside the stadium on matchdays. We constantly look at ways to add value to your Membership, including the exclusive ‘An Evening With Ashbee & Meyler’ and the extra 500 points added to your accounts for early entry at the Derby County fixture, and I would ask you to keep an eye out for further exclusive offerings in the coming weeks and months.

Finally, during Supporters’ Committee discussions about encouraging everyone to return to get behind the team, it was suggested the Allam family do the same and after consideration we will be returning from the West Bromwich Albion game – when we hope to see as many of you there as possible.

Thank you for your continued support of Hull City.

    UTT!

    Ehab Allam
    Vice Chairman

More steps in the right direction, this is good to see. We are stuck with each other and it's time to work together as best we can to get some passion and love back in the stadium in larger volumes

I'll give it to the guy, he's trying, very trying!

That said it doesn't affect whether I support my team or not!

Should have happened two years ago at least.

    At least something is happening.

Nice to see some young fans back and a bit more atmosphere!

Yeah this is it. We're stuck with them and it's far, far better than it was 2-3 years ago. We're never going to get apologies from them so there's no point waiting for one.

The Allams aren't suddenly not ****s and there's still a good chance they'll decide to be ****ish again in the future. But for the time being, things are the brightest they've been in years and these positive developments are most welcome indeed. We even got a whole Ehab statement without a single dig at supporters, which is quite remarkable.

Think when Rick on Twitter says this is not far off the whole olive tree, it's definitely a very good sign. More positivity around the club in the last week than for a long time. Let's try to build on it.

I think over the past three or four years, many of us have maybe tried to over-react (in a positive way) to the slightest reasonable thing the club has done. I know I've been guilty of this. This has been done for a few of reasons. We don't like being at odds with the club we love. We don't want to be seen as being unreasonable, entrenched in our positions. We've also wanted to encourage the club when these rare glimmers of reasonableness presented themselves. The truth was, though, we were largely praising the club for doing the bare minimum, for taking actions that other clubs do without a moment's consideration and without any real expectation of any praise for their actions. It felt like we were overpraising a mischievous toddler in the hope that the carrot would be more effective than the stick.

But of late, things have felt different. This feels more genuine. It feels that there is now an acceptance at the club that the fans are not irrelevant, and they just may be the lifeblood of the club. The scenes with the kids running around the pitch a few days ago were some of the most heart-warming, pleasing images I've seen stem from the club for many years. And it's something I don't think you'll see at other clubs. We're not just doing the stuff other clubs do as a bare minimum, we're going beyond that. This is a good statement from Ehab. Better than anything the club have put out for a long time. There are some good, good people being employed by Hull City, with a lot of the poorer ones now seemingly gone. Ehab seems to have the right voices in his ear. Grant McCann also seems to have been proactive in engaging with the fans. Yes, the reason behind all of this may well be because the club is more reliant on gate receipts, but if that's the worst you can say about all of this then I'll take that. It just feels better. Much better. There's still some way to go. But we're getting there. I still don't think we'll fully move on until new owners are in place, but I didn't think we'd get to these levels with the Allams still in place either.

At least to any perspective buyer this also has a more positive look. There may be more interest in a club that is better supported and from the outside looks less broken than it has done in recent times.

They say Sorry is the hardest thing to say, and they may still be ****s, but at least they are making the effort to be less ****ish.

    So credit where it’s due.

Simple fact is we've had some great times over the last ten years but recently it's been very subdued and for good reason. However just receiving this positive news, half term activities ect seems to have lifted many, life's hard sometimes yet it's amazing the impact when supporting a football club can have. Let's hope for more of it.

A leopard doesn't change its spots it's more accepting his family have screwed up big time and it's now hitting them in the pocket now the prem money has dried up, so he tries to make amends.

I appreciate why he has written and shared his 'open letter', but for me he can stick it!

Sooner they are gone the better!

Despite the t shirt gun and the face painters last Saturday, we still got the second lowest gate in the division.

Sobering thoughts for all with that stat, we may have got some kids back but still plenty of trucculent adults still not attending.

    Hey ! I have an idea !

Why not pay a club employee to fly out to Dresden to investigate what they are doing right with their fanbase?

(Suggest East Midlands to Berlin then train it to Dresden)

Clearly someone in Dresden knows their ****, and the figures speak for themselves.

Not word for word obviously but he says, we aren't going to make a habit of this - the half price thing. Is the west upper still closed...? if so there should be a permanent concession (until we are back in the premiership) to schools on a rotational basis bringing the schools team players accompanied by teachers FOC. Mums and Dads can deliver them and can meet them outside afterwards. No needs for Stewards, that'll be the teachers responsibility. For me, that would be a huge step of connecting and growing a new fan base from the ground up.

    Still a ****

Some good things being done, but only because low crowds are now costing them.

So cynical marketing opportunities don’t make me think any better of the owners, but if they encourage more kids and other fans then that’s still a good thing so I hope they carry on...but I will carry on hoping they sell up and **** off regardless.

I will reserve judgement on the new pricing until I see it.

We might be almost relevant again...
