Costa's fee will come from the sale of Phillips if we are not promoted, so half that money gone

Don't be coming up with exciting signings like that

I'd take either in a heartbeat

I doubt we have shown any interest in Bowen even though he ran rings round us at ER last December & was in the top ten goal scoring charts last season & he is way on course this time round to better last years tally.

Bowen would have a field day at Leeds

Afternoon guys from a sunny Dubrovnik I'd like to echo 1964s comments. I don't mean to sound like I'm belittling people here but those of us who attend elland road and away games on a regular basis can feel that the wheels are about to come off sooner rather than later. Let's face facts we've been nowhere as good as last season ( no matter what stats say) we should have been 5-6 points clear of the rest by now and we're not and everybody in the ground knows that it's going to bite us in the arse before long. The teams around us are going to click and a couple will start to edge away leaving us trying to play catch up. As we know from last season when the going gets tough we crumble we just haven't got the minerals for the fight. That's why it's so tense in the crowd were approaching a third of the season Mark and we look mid table at best.

To some extent I agree with Nick (to coin a phrase) it does feel like the wheels could come off anytime. Because we aren't scoring goals the 2nd half feels like it will never end, which shows how uncomfortable we are. i can listen to Forshaw who said yesterday that this run of luck cannot carry on for much longer and once we start hitting the net we will go on a long run. Thats how I have felt too, but its scary as hell knowing that we are a minute away from defeat in almost every match recently. Forshaw also said we are by far the best team in the league and should steamroller everyone.

another few games like this and we are at Xmas and our season is over, we need to react fast and I am still optimistic

Why all this panic - and it is panic - about White? So Liverpool are rumoured to be interested in him - so what?

Have Liverpool made a bid? Suspect not.
Do Brighton want to sell? Suspect not.
Do Brighton need the money? Suspect not.
Would Brighton want to sell a perfect fit for the Championship if they get relegated? Suspect not.

So what is the big worry here? Leeds fans are never happy! If Radz announced we were signing 10x £5m players in Jan, loads would want more money spent, different players, or more players. They just never stop moaning & criticising just for the sake of it. They should be embracing the purple patch that we're going through - it might not last, so enjoy! FFS! <doh>

Agreed, but do you not see the irony of what you’re saying? You’re paying testimony to the fact we’re a far better team since the arrival of Bielsa and his back room staff. He’s transformed the squad so much that your (and everyone else’s) expectation levels are so high that you’re disappointed we’re not 5-6 points clear. A vast improvement on all the years of hoping to break into the playoffs.

By the same token maybe the teams around us are thinking Leeds will click soon and start to edge away.

No team has yet started to click.

    Enjoy

I'm not into dissing him because he's left or claiming he is a world beater but the simple question for me is would we be stronger to cover inevitable injuries / suspensions if CB cover was White, Cooper & Pontus or White, Cooper & Berardi / Ayling. No doubting White is an upgrade but I'm with you, we nearly made it last year so strengthen from a position of strength.

Again, hopefully not referring to my post. I said 'if' true then our releasing of CB is baffling. Also don't think the Liverpool thing is anything but Brighton might recall him now they've seem how well he's played, for their first team / cover, if they' get sucked into a relegation battle is what I thought was being pointed out?

Sorry, to clarify. If there is a recall clause in January. I'd like to think not because of the sale & U23 releases otherwise Orta really is **** at his job!!

I hate to say this but personally I think they’d be mad not to recall him.

We can only hope they are indeed mad :emoticon-0181-fubar

Whereas Im interested in most opinions, I originally came on this forum to mainly read what regular match goers had to say as obviously Im only a three or four times a year man. Also interesting that particularly today, its mainly the regulars being very cautious about our setup

Can't argue with you there Nick, at times we are so frustrating to watch so much so you can sense the anxiety amongst our fans.

We need a convincing victory to boost up our morale & also give our players much needed confidence

How can any Leeds fan be confident with our track record. Generally we play some impressive football but equally we are so frustrating & nerve-racking to watch at the same time
