Good luck tomorrow against Atherton. I imagine most of the away games at that level are played in pointless mining towns.

They're the ones that after asking one hundred people to name as many mining towns as they can, not one single person names.

I assume with the name 'Collieries', Atherton was a mining town?

Do we still have mining towns? and if we have shouldn't they be playing rugby league?

I get that. It was the reference to them being pointless that I didn't get. Or has it something to do with the quiz show?

No, I just consider it a pointless place. Like Glasshoughton or Armthorpe.

    Another loss

At least after a month of away games
We are at home next week so I will get my football fix...

As long as I get to home games I am happy even when we get beat

    Scarborough v Lancaster next Saturday

Just wondering do others who don't get to footy often get pissed off

Been pissed off this last month but will be happy next Saturday

It's a good job Scarborough play 10 minutes away from my home , which is why I found it ok to support them having lived near Scarboroughs ground for years and years

    All the best

Still 4 points off the play offs

But in my opinion we won't make the play offs.

Out 2 goalscorers both top scorers for last 2 seasons.....seem to have become piss poor

    Walshaw and Coulson

We play better on the ground football this season....But are no where as good as we was playing big boot up field footy

Walshaw is no good when a couple of defenders are near him.

Coulson seems to have given up trying

    Roll on next Saturday

Just a thought today Fileyseadog. I was wondering about your post a while back about City fans in your area being unable to get to the KC now because the bus service has been taken off.
My thought today was, why don't they catch the train ? There is a train back to Filey leaving Paragon at 17.36 after every Saturday fixture. I caught it tonight.

A lot of them were older. And by that I mean a lot older than me. Apart from it being more expensive there is the question of getting to the ground and back. If you have difficulty walking there is no guarantee a bus will get you to the station in time. As you know, I can’t walk far and would have missed that train loads of times (if I hadn’t taken the sensible option of going in Parkers until the queues disappeared). The only way would be to join the exodus of people leaving early whether we are winning, losing or drawing as they have to get all the way across Hull and their lass has told them to be back for their tea on time or else. Most of those were the sort who would never leave early.
Been on that bus on the odd occasion for midweek games, you had to ring up and see if someone had cancelled as it was normally full. Good bunch of people on it, used to pick up in Bedford and other places.
A neighbour of my dad’s used to go on it going back decades. Hadn’t seen him for years but last time I went on it him and his mate, both in their 80s were there.

Hahaha. Miss those days. The match day experience more than made up for the lack of quality.
