BBC sports suggest Matip could be out for up to six weeks with a knee injury. If this is the case, why not bring Gomez back to partner VVD and leave Lovren on the bench

If we're playing away, I'd take Lovren, and then forget to put him back on the bus home.

You're not going to get many disagreeing. Maybe @Jimmy Squarefoot, he loves Lovren.

If you havent been watching the games, you will notice Gomez has been seriously off positionally and tactically. Even Milner was picked at RB before him. His issue is having been out for a while and being young he is too eager to impress hence the errors in his game.

That said, he probably needs a couple of consecutive games to find his form. So unless he finds some form between Arsenal and the Villa game, I believe Lovren will continue at CB.

Gomez off form is still at least equal to Lovren on form

Not if you are looking at his performances this season at CB vs Lovren's. It is the Salzburg game where he had an absolute mare that Lovren was given his chance against Leicester.

Didn't Klopp say something about Gomez not being ready at the moment?

Lovren as played twice and had two stinkers, he just got away with it both times.

I don't mind Lovren either btw

Lovren is not going to be around after this season, so Gmez should take the opportunity with both hands. If Gomez is rubbish, Arsenal and Tottenham are not going to be chasing after him
