So sorry to hear this, Jasper. Have lost sister, best friend, brother in law and Mum in the last 18 months. I won’t say it’s not painful, but it does get easier (slightly) and I feel for you. We’re all here for you if you need someone to talk to.
You must have lost a tonne of soup from that wound! I got hit with a stone there once, and it literally spurted! Not even half as bad as that gash though!
Yea lost a fair bit apparently. I don't remember it happening , I just woke up in hospital. I was out cold. Good 15 ft drop, lucky it didn't kill me in all honesty.
Was thinking about you yesterday Jasp, a truely sad day all round yesterday. We won't always be able to make things better but It helps to talk (type), let some feelings out. All the best
I'm really sorry to hear about that. It's one thing for people to come to the end of a long innings, like parents or grandparents. Then it is often a relief for them and oneself. It's another when younger relatives go before you.
I just went to see Official Secrets at the pictures. If you don’t know, it’s about how in 2003 Katherine Gun, an analyst at GCHQ, leaked a memo from the NSA asking for help with blackmailing delegates to the UN Security Council to vote for the resolution to go to war with Iraq. Tony Blair’s government, naturally, went along with the request and went to war illegally. Katherine’s story is told quite brilliantly and Keira Knightly is outstanding in the title role. A must see.
A simplified urine test that may be relevant for you guys!!?? Go outside and pee in the garden.... If ants gather:- diabetes. If you pee on your feet:- prostate. if it smells like a barbecue:- cholesterol. if when you shake it, your wrist hurts:- osteoarthritis. if you return to your room with your penis outside your pants:- Alzheimers.
This is rather huge. The Lancet is encouraging health pros to go out and peacefully protest against pollution, climate change and ecological breakdown for the health of all people:
As a motorist, who endured all the delays caused by the Millbrook roundabout roadworks, and who is now enduring the delays caused by the Redbridge roundabout delays, what is most frustrating me is that the work is being carried out by a company that is only working a 5 day week, as stated on one of their displayed notice boards on the M271 (“normal” working hours Mon - Fri). The current work is scheduled to end next spring, which could be a duration of approximately 10 months. 10 months is approximately 43 weeks, which gives us 86 days (the weekends) when no work is scheduled. That is almost 3 months!!! Why can’t we have people, who are paying for this work, insisting on the work going to a business that will work 7 days a week in order to reduce the length of time that the delays will be in place? With so many businesses already working 7 days a week, this must be possible, but probably not enacted by companies because of potentially different rates of pay for weekend work, so we have profits overriding motorists frustration, frustrations that could have a knock on effect on the city economy, if visitors don’t visit the town centre, because of the delays.
I ordered something from Amazon, as a surprise for my wife, and have been tracking it online most of the day, seeing little movement of the item I had specifically requested (via Prime) to be delivered today, when I would be at home to receive. Just checked and seen a message telling me that it might be delivered on any of the next 3 days, but definitely not today. I have now had to let my wife know that I am expecting a delivery, as it might now be delivered when I am at work, spoiling the surprise. I have emailed Amazon, requesting a reason for the delay, requesting a guaranteed delivery time after 2pm, when I will be home from work as I don’t want my wife to have to deal with it, because of her lack of mobility and because she can’t always get to the door intercom system before people leave. I have also asked what compensation I will get from them now being in breach of contract. Yeah, I am sure they have something buried in the small print protecting themselves, so not holding my breath there. Bastards.
I've always found with Amazon if they don't deliver when promised & I call them they add a month onto my Prime (I pay annually) when I complain. I have had 19 months of Prime before for the cost of 12
