Maybe we're all forgetting what was BB, before Bielsa. ? We're two position better off and one point better than last year, at the same stage. I really want promotion by Christmas but...... OK 17-18 wasn't too bad but you see my point?
I know, I just chimed in with what I said and why. Bielsa's stubbornness is going to be his own downfall if he's not carefull, as it has been with a couple of other teams in past. I can see why some would would find it staggering, last season was great, a big revival of the team and how we played, but we fell at last hurdle. Our football this season hasn't been great as such, yes we're second, but it's only 13 games. Bielsa is showing signs of stubbornness and arrogance, how long he keeps it up remains to be seen. The fans are starved of achievement and top class prem football, as a club we deserve to be in prem, as a team, we have to earn that right, and it starts and ends with Bielsa. Bielsa was brought in to do a job and get us promoted, he hasn't achieved that yet, irrespective of how good we play football. We can continue to have the most possession in matches, we can have the most shots at goal, we can play good attractive football, but it all means nothing if we don't achieve. Right now we're winning 1-0 or fighting to scrape a draw, the football isn't as good as last season. Fans aren't blind, nor are they stupid, and if Bielsa continues to be stubborn by playing a striker who isn't scoring, the fans are going to become frustrated cos results aren't happening cos goals ain't being scored. goals win matches, goals gets promotion. We're being outplayed and out possessed in midfield, and we're having goals scored against us on the break, and we ain't scoring like we did last season, these are all signs fans pick up on. Some have a go at me cos of my views and opinions on Bamford, Harrison and Phillips, and now Ayling, if they ain't contributing, firing and making mistakes then Bielsa needs to make the changes, same with any other player. 1 mistake equals 1 goal, and so on. Bielsa needs to turn it around, he needs to swallow his pride and stop being pigheaded.
So, following this logic, we've only made 8 mistakes this year. That must surely be world class! Or the words of a fukken moron that doesn't know the first thing about football.
The classic line "yes we're second, but it's only 13 games" so if we were bottom but 1 instead of second would the same still apply.
But (and I don't have the technical know how to put the table up) but look at the points difference between 2nd and 7th, and 2nd & 10th on that table against the current one. Looks like 1st & 2nd were playing more efficiently and consistently back then. I think every team this season in the championship is average at best. Most people are just venting frustration at points dropped when we have had so many opportunities to kill the game off. No one is scoring, the shooting from the midfield players is woeful, but Bamford bets the brunt of criticism because he is payed 30K + a week to score and he has made some glaring misses that any decent striker should finish. Two things about Bielsa where I think people have a right to criticise for me is his reluctance to start a natural goalscorer and his insistence on a small squad that means were having to play a winger / right back as an attacking centre mid & having Berardi & Ayling as our cover for central defence. From our much vaunted U23 only Shackleton has come through as a regular first team player. For all the talk of Struijk and Bogusz they can't be anywhere near ready given who is playing in front of them. Maybe turned into a bit of a rant but despite all I've said, Bielsa has us in the mix when we were never in it before so to want him out is ridiculous for me.
Yes I’m frustrated at the lack of goals but can we really with justification continue to complain when we are no 2 in the league There’s a lot of clubs who would just love to be in our position right now Will still complain on sat if things don’t go our way buts that’s the nature of the beast
Is it only me that this 'were sitting 2nd in the league' is starting to wind up. People make it sound like we're eight points clear of third with a cigar on rather one defeat away from 9th
Point is, as Xbpod says we're second top, not second bottom. If we keep on blundering about, missing chances, failing to adapt, frustrating the people who think we've a right to win by 3 every week and are second from top come May, that'll do me fine. We're not perfect, Bamford is frustrating, Bielsa is sticking to his guns, but most agree only fine margins separate us from a 4/5 point lead at this stage. Anyone calling for Bielsa to be hounded out needs to give their head a shake. Typical Leeds - let's throw the baby out with the bathwater, shoot ourselves in the foot again, kill the goose that lays the golden egg and cut off our nose to spite our face.
Sorry, went to 1:45, as you suggested & gave him 6 minutes of my valuable time. Were you winding us up, or did I completely miss what was interesting about some random guy's random opinions?
All have different ambitions and also depending on age. Young fans who’ve never witnessed success are happy with anything half decent whereas some of us older lads wish for the days of winning stuff
We are 2nd yet we have played 8 of the top 12 teams so far and soon to be 9. Any of them deserve to beat us yet? I'd say West Brom were very good but we still created plenty. Other than that I'd say we have out performed pretty much everyone else. That's the frustrating thing. If we look at our next 6 or 7 weeks fixtures, it looks like a good run of games.
