Anyone seen it? Sorry to disappoint those of you who thought this post was about Ashley! I had heard nowt about it (other than who was playing the joker) before I went to see it so I was expecting something similar to a Batman type film....couldn't have been more wrong What an absolutely fantastic ****ing film and performance from Phoenix. I think you have to be a bit nuts to be able to play that part to start with but **** me, if he doesn't win an Oscar for that I'll be stunned. The last half hour of the film was just an absolute masterpiece. I can't remember the last time I went back to the pics to see a film for the 2nd time but I am with this one. Quite dark and disturbing and when you finally click on to what's actually happening I was like **** me, I need to come see this again. There's 2 or 3 Batman films which I've never got round to watching yet so I'm gonna get on that soon. Don't not go to see this film because you don't like Batman movies or **** like that....it's **** all to do with it putting it bluntly...quite simply it's a cinematic masterpiece !!
saw it the day it came out....I'm sick of the biggest talking points being the performances of the actors ! the films are **** . I think it looked good , but the storyline was like zzzzzzz it's just another issue with a celebrity obsessed world ! can't we just have a good film one day and talk about that rather than which prick that never stopped playing mams and dads will get a pat on the backside
Hope Cron the Barman is right but too many of these films (Marvel/Superhero-with the exception of Guardians ) are killed by the overhype, the CGI and the lack of an honest to goodness storyline.
Think you need to go see it again pal. Having read some of the writers comments on it today I need to see it again now like. Some of the scenes were just pure ad-hoc with Phoenix just doing what he thought would work which left the the film crew just dumb struck and on sheer disbelief. I wont spoil it by mentioning any bits but I cant wait to see it again just to pay extra attention. Nobody else should be allowed to play the joker after that in my opinion....in fact they should just never make another joker film again cos theres simply no topping that in my opinion. By all means put him (as joker) in a batman film.....not with ****ing Robert Pattinson as batman like, there just no room for that kinda stupid ****!
Starting to think that you might have seen the wrong film mate. There is literally nothing else to talk about about this film other than Phoenix's performance. As for the storyline....maybe you didn't follow it properly.....seriously go see it again!!
I hate performance hooping mate ! the film was done very well, but I didn't like it or want to see it again and I would rather watch aliens for the 100th time
I thought it was good, but wasn't blown away, like. I don't really like origins stories, and I preferred the story of the Joker in The Dark Knight where he just appears from nowhere is a deranged psychopathic genius, rather than a story like this of "how he got there".
Bit slow in places for me but great acting from Phoenix! Lot's of people saying it was to violent but really its more dark, psychological thriller and a complete mind **** that outrageously violent.
