Looks to be a gamble going down at Wolves tomorrow night, Roy Brothertons 3 with Probert up all moving. Anyone any insight? Does it look genuine?

Strange one, prices have contracted considerably but: Trainer hasn't had a winner on the flat in a year (26 runners) so hard to imagine he'd break that duck with a 3 timer. His all time AW strike rate is worse than 1 in 13. The last entrant hasn't beaten a single horse home in 12 months (3 runs). Good luck if you have a go though :emoticon-0148-yes:.

Snowy Oscar in the first at Southwell. 2nd run back from a wind op and reading what Stick said the other day about the horse waiting to feel pain when it was flat out, makes sense. It looked the best horse LTO but something was holding it back. I'm hoping it was that and that it will be better for it now.

Looking ahead to Saturday and the Doncaster Stakes, King Neptune is well ahead on ratings and is favourite at between 2/1 and 3/1. There is some variance in the prices of the O'Brien entries though, with Pistoletto 7/2 and King Neptune 3/1 with one firm. King Neptune is entered in a couple of races at the Breeders Cup and I just wonder if he may go there in his own right or as a pacemaker for one or more of his more illustrious stablemates.

King Neptune has looked exposed at around the 90's on ratings but his 4th in the Middle Park has seen his rating soar. That Middle Park was a funny race with a few underperformers on the day and big outsiders in 3rd and 4th place. Summer Sands has won since finishing 3rd in the Middle Park but he was pretty much chucked in at the weights of the Redcar race and his winning RPR was 20 lbs less than his mark for the Middle Park. The Group 1 run looks dubious.

With some uncertainty about participation and true strength of form I wanted to take King Neptune on ante-post. The horse I have gone for is Art Power. Time Easterby's colt made a modest debut in 3rd at Newcastle but next time at York when dropped to 5F on soft ground he travelled ominously well before kicking away to win by 5 lengths. His RPR of 93 was a two stone improvement on his first run and he clocked a Topspeed Rating of 103, which is close to the best in the race on Saturday. The son of Dark Angel looked a good sprinter in the making at York and any improvement puts him right in the mix in a fairly exposed field with a few question marks around the race. Silvestre De Sousa is booked to ride and I thought Paddy Power had/have Art Power too big on 10/1.

The current going at Doncaster is good to soft but there is rain forecast for Friday (15-20mm) and Art Power is proven on soft. It seemed the further he went, the better he looked over 5F at York, so he should have no problem going back up to the 6F he debuted over.

Art Power looks a reasonable prospect to me at odds of 10/1. I would have him on 6/1 myself.

Saturday 1.45 Doncaster Art Power 10/1

In the Cancom (Old Horris Hill) I went against hot favourite Kinross with Kenzai Warrior at 14/1. The Roger Teal horse beat Max Vega on his sole start and that colt has looked good since, winning twice, including the Zetland Stakes.

Definitely my last two bets of the flat season.

Are we just making up prices as we go along now Pilgrim? <laugh>

    INAWHILECROCODILE 20/1 (genuine)
Longsdon was bossing the bumper scene a few seasons back but he has dropped some way down the pecking order. In this animal he has one with a lovely page of bumper winners and whilst it looks pretty competitive on paper surely it is better to be on one at a "price".

I don't make anything up. More than an hour ago, when I wrote, I saw Willian Hill 5/2 and Betfair and PP 9/4. That's what I saw before I wrote. All other bookies 2/1. In fact there are still bookies with 2/1. I have no idea if by the time I wrote the message, he'd already come down.

I bet on the horse yesterday afternoon 3/1.

David Allan replaces Silvestre De Sousa on Art Power in Saturday's race. He is declared though, with the field reduced from 16 runners to just 8. The good news is that King Neptune and Pistoletto are out of the race, so at least the thinking on the shape of the race has been proven sound.

A best price of 6/1 now, I think Art Power has a good chance in a race where new Favourite Troubador is representing the Michael Dods stable, who are currently batting at 4%

Aberama Gold is next in the betting and is a big danger but he is only 6 lbs ahead of Art Power and carries 3 lbs more, leaving the less exposed horse with not a lot of improvement required to be right there.

Hong Kong is O'Brien's sole entry now but he only lost his maiden tag on Sunday past and makes a quick turn around six days later. He is rated 7 lbs behind Art Power on RPR and does not look that progressive so far, making him look poor value in my mind.

Happy with Art Power at 10/1. If only he can go and win the thing now :emoticon-0107-sweat

Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite Kemboy could be prevented from running for the foreseeable future following a ban on entries or declarations for horses registered in the ownership of the Supreme Horse Racing Club.

The syndicator, which has risen to become a major force in jump racing through its involvement in the yard of champion trainer Willie Mullins, faces numerous allegations of financial impropriety from members.

The Racing Post has been forwarded documents and correspondence in relation to those claims, one of which is that shares in Kemboy – a triple Grade 1 winner last season – have been oversold to a significant extent.

Some former Supreme members have moved towards taking legal action, with HRI having also concluded that a number of the allegations fall outside its remit.

However, Irish racing's governing body has been seeking answers from Supreme's management over some member complaints. It first contacted Supreme in August, asking for details relating to the membership of each horse registered in the company's name, including the size of all shareholdings.

HRI has subsequently made a series of additional requests to Supreme but failed to receive any of the necessary information.
On October 7 HRI informed Supreme it could no longer make withdrawals from its HRI owner account and issued a warning that the account would be suspended if all the information was not provided by October 18.

After that latest deadline came and went without a response, the club's account was blocked on Monday, meaning no entries or declarations will be accepted for any of its horses.

    afternoon,fellas!

kicking things off with a short-priced double today:

    thurles,1 45:

AGUSTA GOLD is probably a bit unlucky, not to have already won over fences this season.but she has that touch of class, and has a big shout today.

    carlisle,1 50:

OVERTHETOP posesses the strongest form here, having beaten a very useful horse of pipes on his last start, and that horse has won a few weeks ago.big chance.

well,a fine start for me today!long may it continue..

    carlisle,2 25:

a hot little novice chase, with all 5 already having proved above-average over hurdles, but one horse, that i like a lot is GLOBAL CITIZEN.he ran at the highest level last season, and if taking to fences, there should be some good pots to be won with him.

BALLYGOWN BAY hasnt shown much so far this season, but hes still young enough to make his mark over fences for his top stable, and shouldnt be underrated here..

And now a non runner. Is this an attempted repeat of that famous Irish gamble which became a film featuring a very young Pierce Brosnan?
