Someone seemed to hint that the third party might have been Nathan O'Brien, but for several reasons Short would make more sense!

His ‘can’t be arsed / I’ve had enough of this **** stance Moyes onwards was a disgrace mind. Before then he just appointed the wrong people - Byrne being the main one. Same mistake as the current lot for me. Lots of business and commercial acumen not enough football acumen .

I'm not sure it was really a case of not being arsed, probably more just a case that we were getting into more and more debt despite the money he'd been investing. When he looked and saw that whatever he spent on players tended to just add to the debt (because they'd invariably be ****e and we'd sell for a loss, or they'd decide they didn't want to play football any more, or they became a nonce) he probably just worked out it wasn't sensible for anyone if he put more in. Equally he kept hiring managers and then needing to pay them off a year later. We've all got a level whereby we say enough is enough. All the above was caused by his poor decision making mind, if we'd had the right football people involved it might have been avoided, but I don't think it's as simple as he just stopped being arsed. In fact if we take at face value what has come out since (he wanted Donald and Methven because they didn't want to port the debt, he wrote off money due, he's worked with the new owners on legacy debt even after the deal is agreed, someone even said he still has season tickets) it's obvious that he is still arsed, he must just have known that he was throwing money down a black hole

    I honestly believe it's done.

Methven wouldn't dare announce that to a handful of people 'behind the backs' of the majority of supporters.

    Hell on ....

A supporters branch talk in at Sedgefield.

Surprised there hasn't been an epic meltdown by fannies in the same way that applied to Donald's at Consett.

    God I f*cking hope so!

Whilst I always have that ridiculous feeling of excitement at 2.59pm thinking:
"I KNOW we're going to get something here!"

In between matches I looked around at the situation and was really beginning to lose all hope.
I thought that Ross wouldn't get us promoted and we'd end up with another financial meltdown / crisis.

The performance (more than the result!) on Tuesday allied to some good news on the investment front will give people (especially me) a huge boost of optimism I reckon.

    Fingers crossed!

So explain to us the football acumen that you believe is necessary and who has it in the clubs that you admire.
Quinn was a football man yet reckoned cliff byrne was destined for the top??
He presided over keane wasting 60m 13 years ago in 2 windows ( a lot of money then ). Do you want managers to manage or do you expect dof's or ceo's to interfere.
We all swooned when o"neill was appointed. He was crap. Can you imagine the uproar if a hard ass CEO was interfering with his spending at his first window?
This bilge about a 'football man' is laughable. Cheap, colorful and thrown around like confetti.
The vast majority panned kirchoff after his first game. Worst premier player ever, worst debut ever etc etc. The average fan knows about as much as the despised Byrne about football.
I think your sort don't or didn't like byrne because she was a threat. Young, successful, educated and sin of sins..a woman.

These people mustn't get excited about anything. To them 'shoot your load' refers to a lorry full of football annuals! <laugh>
