Good Morning. It's Thursday 24th October, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines

Phil Hay - Not sure how Bielsa can continue to leave Nketiah out

Leeds journalist Phil Hay has responded to fans regarding Eddie Nketiah being included in the starting line up on Saturday.

Speaking from his twitter account, the former Chief football writer for the YEP said as follows:-

    Phil Hay
    ✔@PhilHay_
Eddie rescues it. Quality header. There comes a time when domination leading to a shortage of goals requires a rethink and it feels like we're at that point. Not sure how Bielsa can continue to leave Nketiah out.

Will there be a backlash if Nketiah is not in the starting line up, or is the Argentine still in the position with most fans that he cannot do wrong?

Will fans turn on Bielsa if we are not even in the play off mix, come May? Lets be honest, when have we had a better second part of the season, compared to the first?

Wright clarifies what he told Nketiah regarding which club to choose

Ian Wright has clarified what he said to Nketiah regarding whether to join Bristol City or Leeds on the season long loan. The 20 yo even had his medical booked at Ashton Gate, but obviously to the Robins disappointment, did not turn up.

“Everyone’s talking about the fact I advised him to go to Leeds but what I said to him was that he’ll score goals at both of those clubs, it depends on the level of pressure you want to put on yourself in respect of having to score those goals.

“In the end he chose Leeds but at the same time, you know what happened with Tammy Abraham and how they create chances here.

French Journalist Radrizzani and Al-Khelaifi 'Very close circle'

French journalist Romain Molina has been speaking to the press regarding Andrea Radrizzani's relationship with Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, the Chairman of Qatar Sports Investments and President of PSG.

He explained: “Andrea Radrizzani is a great friend of Nasser Al-Khelaïfi’s. We’re talking about the very, very close circle.”

That friendship is something that has helped Leeds get closer to the Qatari investment fund, as Molina says Marcelo Bielsa’s side are one that has been in the ‘Qatari fold for a long time’.

He continued: “The club’s youngsters go to Qatar. The club subscribes to Qatari projects. The closeness with Qatar was already clear.”

Raphaël Le Magoaeriec, a specialist on sport politics in the Middle East, expanded on the subject.

He said: “With PSG, Qatar has an important relay for its foreign politics within political and cultural areas, but the problem is what’s on the pitch because the club is only judged on their Champions League results because Ligue 1 is too weak. With Leeds, QSI could count on the glamour of the English league to develop its image.”

It’s all a business to them, but for Molina, Radrizzani’s interview was a bit strange.

He ended with: “To have an interview, like he did with the Times, is something very rare in this operation. I don’t see the point, except maybe to wake up the potential other two buyers.”

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

I think the only way out of this Pat/Eddie situation is for Bielsa to start Eddie which gets people off his back and puts Pat on the bench. If Eddie doesn't work out and the performance of the team is lacking, he can swap them over at half time and say job done, I was right. I still believe Bielsa is clever enough to find a way to play both. Would still have Clarke and Edmondson on the bench plus Roberts?

I look at the strikers available to Fulham and already Mitrovic has scored 11 and he plays as part of a front 3 who have scored 17 goals between them and also have Cairney behind them who has scored 5 making 22 goals from 4 players. We have Pat and Eddie on 9 between them but only Alioski on 2 behind them. We don't have Pablo's goals so far this season so Harrison, Costa and Klich need to step up because this time last season Pablo and Klich were scoring. Maybe if the rest of the team weighed in more Bamford wouldn't be under so much pressure

The Eddie Vs Bamford saga continues and every leeds fan and their Grannies have an opinion on the subject. There will be certain elements of the fan base that will kick off but i'm afraid that the majority will be on their knees sucking Bielsa's dick no matter what he does. If You look at stats you can tell Eddie is better than Bamford it takes him just over 60 mins of playing time to score.

Firstly Wright needs a new hat cos that one is ****ing awful......

You do wonder if Wright is going to advise Eddie to leave Leeds and go to Bristol because even in my opinion with how things stand Bristol looks like a better option because he will get more game time. Let's face it Bielsa is stuck in his ways and won't leave Bamford on the bench.

On to QSI even they buy us out, Invest cash in the club of just **** off. Don't need people sniffing around and doing nothing.

    Morning all...

I agree with Doc, although the main pressure should be on your striker to score the goals, the rest are pretty abysmal too with their shooting accuracy. Yes we play with one striker but we also play with two sometimes three attacking midfield players.

I’d imagine Eddie will start next time out, he needs to score when starting to cement his place.

Bielsa has a track record where ever he has been, problem is it’s the same pattern with every club, he surprises a league for one season only then they get to grips with the pattern of play and nullify his tactics, hence Charlton, Swansea, Forest etc.
Either change tactics amigo Bielsa or it’s Adios Amigo, this season we have to go up.

Just looked at his Club Managed records and I can see where you're coming from. Apart fromthe Argentina National Team he'snever spent more than two years at a club. infact he's only done a year at his last 2 clubs Lille and Lazio

Lille finished 2nd in Ligue 1 under Christophe Galtier and Bielsa was fired whilst the club was second from bottom in the table.

He only lasted 2 days at Lazio then quit and the club sued himfor 50 million Euros. Lazio finished 7th last year in Serie A

We have to be patient with the QSI thing, I worked out in Qatar for a good number of years and they do not rush anything, for example if I kept pushing Qatar Petroleum for a contract they would ask for a mark down in price to do the work, so Radz is playing it cool and not jumping in and asking them to commit, I think the club is in good hands with Radz and we shall go forward.

Good Morning to matt Doc WJ RIK ETC FROM a dull Bardsey
Having watched the extended highlights just now I couldn't help thinking that Bamford can't head a ball properly he lets the ball hit his head instead of directing the ball to where he wants it to go Would he have scored Eddie goal NO
Looking at the midweeks results suggest that 92 points will win the league as there is not much difference between all the clubs so any team that can average 4 points every 2 games will get promotion

There hasn't but much difference in stamdards in this league for nearly 10 years now. We all know that anybody can beat anybody on their day. It's easier to drop out of the Premier League than it is to get promoted in to the Premier League. You look at WBA, Fulham, Swansea even Hull. All been in the Premier League and have recently struggled to get up.

Agree that others need to contribute goals but if memory serves, this time last season Bamford was injured and Roofe played up front and was scoring.

Hopefully he gives Eddie a dozen games to prove himself like he's done with Bamford. Eddie will be another Abrahams/Pukki but only if the coach has the foresight to let him play

agreed but also why I said earlier Bamford and Eddy had scored 9 between them but nobody else is contributing. In fairness to Bielsa and Bamford only Fulham have a striker who scored more as the other top teams are 9, 8, and down for their striker, so our CF if you like is second in the league. Pablo and Klich scored goals last season and we're missing those. We should expect at least 1 from a CB by now and half dozen from midfield the way we play but not had them except for 2 from a wing back

Your last paragraph hits the nail on the head for me. The fact that NOBODY is scoring goals is the issue. Bamford is part of a bigger problem in the squad. That's why we need Eddie in the team. We know he will score goals. I'd also stick Bamford or Roberts at 10 as they also like getting in the box and sniffing out chances as they are both strikers. They can still work hard for the team but will probably get in the box more often than the likes of Dallas and Klich at the moment.
