Funny how every game becomes "important" but Ajax definitely is. A good run in the PL would be just what the doctor ordered for our Team, and Ajax stand in the way after our home loss to Valencia.
One or two of the kids are starting to look a tad jaded to me, ie Mount and Tomori. The first has dropped form ever so slightly and the latter has made a couple of silly errors last couple of games.
Conversely Zouma and Alonso have lifted, and Pulisic looks ready for another go.
Might be the time Frank relies a bit more on experience by bringing back Pedro and Giroud and putting Willian on as sub later in the game. Other than that, don't see other changes, except Kante if fit, and hopefully, no Barkley.
Really looking forward to this one.

C.P. I don't think Kante and Barkley travelled to Amsterdam. Lookin forward to seeing how we cope with Ajax. They are a very exciting team to watch, albeit probably not as strong as last year, but especially the fact they are at home i think we will do very well to take a point. Might indeed be a time for some of the older heads. Let's hope our fans will be singing "down at the red rose cafe" after the match !

A point would be a good result.
I agree that we need to rotate a little, dont want to burn our youngsters out.
Stick Giroud up top and bring on Tammy with 20 minutes to go.

Think we may struggle here, but our young guns have proved us all wrong so far

Been a bit busy recently so haven't seen us play in a while.

After the mishaps of the first game we need to be getting something out of this. No to barkley ever, hoping we give odoi more chances as hes come on strongly

    Nice one lads!
Would have been happy with a point, so to get all three is great work!
Really helps our chances of winning the group, especially if we can win against them at the Bridge too

Also why the hell do we seem to be playing much better away than at home this season?!

Thought our second half was outstanding after what I thought was a wake up call 1st half. Tammy, Willian, Jorghino and Mount were initially poor. Ball given away too easily, passes misplaced and all slow on the uptake. By comparison, the Ajax players' technical ability was miles better and their touch and passing game a joy to watch.
On the other hand Tomori was again excellent and he and Zouma looked mostly comfortable and got even better as the game went on. Once we tightened up and realised how good the Ajax kids could play, we gained the upper hand and despite 2 very close calls, generally had their measure all game. Willian had a below par game as did Tammy and Mount, no lack of effort, but all looked a bit off to me. Pulisic and Batman lit us up and after a Hazard like miss, Batman scored a well taken goal from another excellent Pulisic feed. Will be difficult not to start those two soon. Terrific win, excellent tactics, perfect subs and 3 points. Very very impressive from players and managers.
Pretty critical report, but watched the game twice now and think I am being fair !!

Yeah we were really good and definitely improved second half. I feel like our energy matched theirs, had we gone with too much experience I feel they’d have been too quick for us.

Pulisic must be looking at starting the next one, tore their full back to pieces and it’s good to see Batshuayi contributing consistently too, although he should’ve laid that other shot off to James for 2-0.

Azpi had his best game this season and even Zouma looks more assured, maybe it’s the consistency of having Tomori next to him?

Amazed we won that but I do still worry about us at home, we definitely need to win one of our remaining home games at least!

it's been brilliant . Everything stacked against us, the Ban, Frank inexperienced, promising but untried kids, people calling for Willian, Pedro and Alonsos' heads, Zouma having a mare first couple of games, leaking goals like a sieve, slowly but surely improving, getting back CHO, losing Kante, Jorghino shutting up most of us, especially me. Blimey, don't remember this much fun since Jose 1. And as CFC says, Rudi Kante and RLC yet to come back.

That's a great win and thought we were superb second half baring a 10 minute spell. Fully deserved the win and pleased for the subs.

Valencia only drew as well which gives us a really good chance of qualifying with 2 home games left.

Yes, let’s not get carried away.

Young inexperienced teams can fall away quickly.

    But yes loving it

The best thing for me is the forum experts saying that we would morph into QPR when Hazard left.

They were idiots. I love Haza but some of our best team football was without him when Willy and Peders stepped up

Said before the game that the result would be a great indicator of our progression so far. Clearly the lads are playing for Frank and are relishing the competition for places, always a healthy thing.
