I've always thought he does with his incessant desire to take the fullback on 2 or 3 times but as Smug said above, tonight doesn't prove anything. If we play like that a few more times without him it might start proving it. He's comfortably our most talented player still

Wouldn’t have to check back in the middle if there’s no pass on he can have a dig.

You don’t not play a player with that ability at this level, but he’d be better used inside to mask the lack of pace. He’s fine with tight spaces he could be quality in there.

    I love McG me.

    No negatives for me.

5 different scorers, clean sheet, goals spread throughout the game and no sitting back defending a lead .... a few more will be looking for Shrewsbury tickets now.

He definitely does it just depends on if what he offers outweighs that, I'm not sure it does. If the formula is going to be bomb it to the touch line and put a cross straight in we've got Watmore and Gooch who are both quicker, stronger and more direct than McGeady.

If he's willing to take direction and be more direct then we all know his quality. Otherwise depending on the formation and strategy on the day we could play him in the middle.

Either way the players who played tonight all have to start the next game.

Parkinson now has seen most of the squad in two completely opposite performances so as ever with safc, picking the right XI will still be a major problem

Theres no argument, he is, but the question is, is he the best man for the team out wide, or would he be better in the hole, where Maguire played to-night, what a great position to be in if he is, its like two new players to give us options no one else has in this league and makes it unnecessary to chase after players in the next transfer window, and frees us to strengthen elsewhere.

Big thing would be Watmore getting fit and staying so, he'd be like a new signing he's been out so long if he does

We been discussing this kind of setup since about last Christmas on here ain’t we.

The coaching staff are welcome to text me for more ideas. Me or about 28,000 of us <laugh>

2 in 3 for Grigg, 3 in 3 for Watmore. 2 players heavily written off by many.

Funny game ain’t it. He might not be on fire yet but he’s mildly warm.

Just watched the post match interview with Parki.
    (paraphrased)
"you must be delighted with the first 3 goals"
"yeah, but shame it wasn't 4, going to look at the disallowed goal again"

Think we would all settle for mildly warm for the rest of the season

Personally don't think selection will be a problem after winning 5-0
