I've been a bit disappointed with what I've seen of kane up to date. I know its early doors and hes not had much of a run but his passing leaves a lot to be desired. Pugh has mainly been used as a sub but again he hasn't shown me anything better than what Samuel could have done. Thoroughly enjoying this season, long may it continue.
Neither substitution made any positive difference. Pugh couldn't even put his foot on the ball and Amos ruined a good performance from Wells. After he went off, our goal threat disappeared too.
I'd like to have seem Bright come on but then I'm never one for subs designed to see a game out, I'm all for killing a game off. Probably why I'm not a manager .
Agree entirely. I understood the kane substitution, it was to try allow Eze and chair to play more infield and get on the ball. I still dont quite get the purpose of the Amos for Wells.
I'm all for attack is the best form of defence. Considering our goals conceded stat then it's the only way to go!
Draw was prob the right result, BUT the ref was useless he let counts of fouls go by and then he awarded a freekick from nothing. He watch a certain red to reading and pen against them go by and that was why i think we should have won it. He let them to get 13 fouls without showing a yellow card, and after that start to pick almost every rangers tackle and gave freekicks to them. The worst referee i have saw this season by far. He let players wrestle and in wrestling reading was better team. Eze`s style dont suit in this kind playing at all.
Disappointing night & journey home, first half passing was at times dire, thought fakes very dangerous in attacking 3rd, stepped up a gear in 2nd half at times & agree with most on here taking wells off we seem to get lost up front after & lack of thrust, thought we was going to lose at the end as fakes stepped up after their goal & a very soft one at that, still point is a point & if you had said 4 from hull & reading we would have taken that, seem to have more freedom away from home these days, funny old game eh.
Haven't read the thread as phone died - bit like the game. 1 point and up to 4th. Let's not get too spoilt. You can't and won't win them all.
Indeed. Could have played far better but last season we’d have probably come away saying it was a better performance than most. The defending really is criminal at times though to nicely balance out the lovely attacking fluffiness.
Agree with Warburton's comments. To have an off day and climb a place is acceptable. However, they need to turn up on Monday!
****ing hell the highlights don’t reflect well on the ref. Would like to think their centre-half will get a ban for the elbow. Probably not. The handball was ludicrous. Ref looking straight at it, puts his whistle to his mouth and decides not to give it. Just odd.
I could see the logic in Amos as he’s meant to be good at putting his foot on the ball and the game was stretched at 2-1 though we looked more likely to add a third at the time. Amos was painfully off the pace. Thought the Pugh sub was a waste when we were crying out for BOS.
A disappointing game and a Rangers performance that didn't really deserve more than a point. Bad defending cost us yet again, with poor communication between Kelly and Leistner for the first and Manning losing his man for the second. I'd have had BOS on for Hugill at half time, and taking Wells off later on made no sense at all. I could see the logic of the Kane for Rangel switch, but Kane was pretty awful when he got on. Still far from convinced by Kelly, who should bear most of the blame for the first goal in my opinion. He did make two or three smart saves, but his distribution (the area where he is supposed to be superior to Lumley) was pretty poor all night. Leistner MOM for me, despite the first goal.
