He didn't go to the police at the time he was made chairman because Jock Stein told him to keep Celtic's name clean.

The FOURTEEN name dossier was given to the police over ten years later. The police at the time pretty much ignored it.

After Jock Stein had died and after Hugh Birt had once again went to the Celtic directors to complain about Torbett, who had been allowed back into the club AND Frank Cairney, Torbet's partner in crime.

Birt was forced out. His position as Chairman of Celtic's feeder club was taken over by convicted paedophile Frank Cairney, the man Hugh had warned the Celtic directors about.

Unfortunately Birt couldn't get his old job back as official club photographer because that position was filled by a fellow who would later be prosecuted for having hundreds of pictures of naked children including kids from Celtic's feeder club. Pictures that he stashed in his office in the bowels of Celtic park.

Hugh's no hero but at least he tried. He paid the price for trying. Going by your constant disgraceful demonising of the man, he is still paying the price.
