I guess mate we will agree to disagree then. Even if I did give you guys an alternate view on some of the things you all seem certain to happen, you know as well as me I would be jumped on from a big height. On my own as it seems it would be a one sided discussion. Also I don’t consider myself to be the best spokesman for the major part of the country. (Based on the last poles)

Desperation to prevent parliamentary scrutiny, If it's a good "deal" then surely a few extra weeks don't matter. No economic analysis. Brexit secretary doesn't know whether paperwork is needed GB/NI. Trust me, he says. His own family don't even trust him, proven liar morally, intellectually and financially corrupt.

You’ve only ever given views that way though, nothing positive about brexit. That’s my point.

I understand that to a point...........but being a lonely supporter on here I’d only get slaughtered. You surely can understand that. I have already expressed my bias and nothing can or will change that. I’m sorry if that annoys some of you but that is the way it is.

    1. No, I can’t understand your first point. If you believe, tell us why. Convert us or at least open our eyes a bit. That starts a discussion/debate

    2. Your second point has just ended the discussion again and is exactly what I said at the start of this. I really don’t know why you bother posting on it.

It wouldn't be a one sided debate, it never is. If you offer a viewpoint, that is undefined and not backed up with any argument whatsoever, others will give you 100 reasons why Brexit was bad in the first place, and why this deal is bad now. Blindly repeating that your reasons are private as it's a personal feud with the EU is pointless and just because the differing opinions are many, it's still not one sided. Everyone else who posts on the politics board is absolutely dying for a post that lists WHY Brexit can ever be a good thing. Even one reason would would be good, properly backed up with facts. But the reality is that there are NO good reasons, or someone would gleefully tell us - so if there are NO good reasons, why change the status quo? If there are no good reasons, why pursue a Brexit that does not satisfy what was promised and campaigned for, will break the GFA, and if achieved at all, will be a chimera of a deal that suits nobody.

I voted leave by the way Beddy, but not because of any real issues with the EU but almost entirely from a sense of protest against the establishment and also from an innate anarchism that I can't grow out of. I then started researching what the consequences might be though, when it became clear that Brexit would be difficult to do at all, and impossible to do whilst fulfilling Leave referendum campaign promises. I started questioning some of the "facts" surrounding Brexit and I started questioning the motives of certain players.

Now I love a good conspiracy theory, great entertainment, watching the strange believing the ludicrous however I see much of the same blindness amongst many Leave supporters. It's so like a religion that it is scary. According to Leaver propaganda, there are 17.4 million people who just want it over with. They just want the Brexit they were promised and will accept No Deal as that elusive prize because they're right, and Leave won and there's nothing more to add. Probably 10% have even the slightest grasp of economics, global politics, trade, anything really. They repeat tabloid generated mantras that are nonsense they will not change.
Frankly it's Tragic Beddy, the way that the country has been split by the devious and fueled by the ignorant. It has already caused rifts that will last generations and surely, if only for that reason, Brexit should never have been started.

Look, you are an intelligent guy. Why not at this late stage look into all the downsides of Brexit, and they are many not least the projected 5% drop in GDP that the current deal involves. Then look for the upsides..do you really want a blue passport that badly ?

On a separate subject, with a General Election in the offing it is worth noting that in Scotland there are only two Tory held seats that would not fall to the SNP on a 5% swing. Currently they are forecast to benefit from a swing in the range of 12-15%. LD and Labour seats are vulnerable too. Jo Swinson has a majority of less than 5500.

And, without having a pop at you Beddy (I really am not), saying you want us out for personal reasons is no better than moaning about Boris & co wanting out for monetary gain. This doesn't just affect you, it affects 60 million people.

You can't really blame the LD's for benefitting from taking a definite stance, labour has lost ground because of their failure to come out against Brexit until it was far too late. Even now it is Labour MP's that are threatening to put the Pfeffel bill through. Disgraceful, and Corbyn is prevaricating about disciplinary action. Alistair Campbell is kicked out for saying he voted LD they go scot free for propping up a rotten and corrupt Tory administration.

Can they keep it going? Come the election voters will return to "type" and vote rhe way they normally do. In Hampshire alone there may be 4 or 5 seats which could go either way - Winchester, Southampton Itchen, Portsmouth South, Eastleigh. And perhaps Southampton North The rest are nailed on Tory seats, Test apart.

Coincidently, if Buffoon stops the UK funding the oil industry with subsidies [apologies FLT, if that may include your petrochemical buddies, I'm not entirely sure], that just about covers the 6.7% drop in GDP, as we are still a major oil producer.

I can really see that happening. <whistle>

2017 Corbyn had a free shot. Voters in favour of Remain gave him the benefit of the doubt. At that time he did nothing to disabuse Remainers of the view that he was on their side. Things have changed since then and those of us prepared to take him on trust have been betrayed. It's LD for me, although I do think their leader may lose her seat.

Just seen this response, by Rees Mogg, when asked if a financial assessment would be released. Money certainly doesn’t buy manners.

It's the next one that is important, this one had to pass to enable amendments to be made.
