    Il start with a few:
    • Short isn’t to blame for our demise (the long leash didn’t help), I blame the money grabbing ethos of the ‘footballing people’ he rightly entrusted.
    • Jermain Defoe gave up in his last season with us as he knew he could leave for free if he did.
    • Di canio was the only one with his head screwed on.
    • Methven was right about our fans at Wembley (I left the game embarrassed)

I shouldnt bite but your first statement boils my P*SS. Why are 'some' people so apethetic to this man who 'employed the wrong people?'...His sole job as the custodian of our club was to employ the right people!! The facts are are as long as your arm as to why 99% of Sunderlands demise is down to that man, I have posted them many times on many forums...The main Reason we are currently 10th in League 1 is down to ELLIS F**KING SHORT...fact

We were quiet and accepting at Wembley, CM was spot on.
We could have shifted 50k for the Checkatrade final yet left 4000 unsold for the bigger match.

The whole point in the post was to avoid biting and you post your own beliefs which you think are adverse and no one seems to be playing along. :emoticon-0138-think

Our fans aren't as loyal as we think they are.

It's too damn quiet in the stadium and we don't do our part in helping the team. We're less a twelfth man and more of a drain on the atmosphere.

It's understandable to an extent but still. Big crowd but not a big support.

Please do not come back as you must have been one of reasons for the embarrasment.

I am of the opinion that it is up to the players to generate the excitement to create a better atmosphere , the past few seasons has seen a reduction in noise from the crowd but given the football we have been served it is quite understandable . You probably have to back to the Peter Reid days where we had two good wingers and the whole of the team on the front foot and really attacking teams creating excitement , creating chances , scoring goals , their was a buzz around the place . Unfortunately we have not had that buzz for a while now , the team we have now lacks speed ,creativity , flair , and unfortunately as long as we have our current recruitment team I can’t see it changing , I actually feel sorry for our strikers who are always feeding on scraps with chances created minimal , lack of confidence is low and it shows .

Apathy set in a few seasons ago, and is still present to a certain extent. We've stopped the rot, but we certainly haven't turned the corner yet.
When that happens, and people enjoy the match more than they enjoy the piss up before and after, then the atmosphere will get back to what it once was. I look forward to that day.

It is a bit of a catch 22 but for me the fans aren't playing their part in the same way that the players aren't. We shouldn't need to see sexy football to support our team, we're in league one.

We're playing in league one with a random bunch of average league one players. We don't have a divine right to win every match.
