    Dear Saints fans,

My name is Patrick and I'm a university student, currently working on my thesis, where I analyze the cost of football for fans in the Premier League and how it changed in the last 5 years. As part of my research, I'm also collecting food & beverage prices from the current season in the following categories:

    Pint of beer (cheapest category)
    Pint of cider (cheapest category)
    Mineral water (0,5 l)
    Soft drink (0,5 l)
    Tea
    Pie
Hot food - burger or hot dog
    Crisps (one bag)

I have contacted the clubs themselves and while I received some answers, unfortunately Southampton was not one of them. It would be much appreciated if you could help.

    Kind regards,

    Patrick

There was a young student named Pat
He liked to ask, "How much is that?"
    But when his thesis
    Was ripped to pieces
He had to work in a McDonald's hat

there was a young student named Pat
Whose request for some info fell flat
He was left with some bruising
    After comments by Susan
made clear what he thought about that

Sorry Pat, from this and the similar threads you have posted on other boards it doesn’t look like fans are very forthcoming. @Red Hadron Collider from the Liverpool board probably summed things up when he said he never buys food and drink at the ground as it’s too expensive.

My best suggestion is that you actually take the trouble to visit 2 or 3 Premier League grounds yourself in order to carry out this research, rather than doing it “on the cheap”.

He'd have been better off doing one on var. Bound to be someone on here with plenty to say about that.

Not sure why there are any negative replies to this. Strange to suggest he should pay for transport and a match ticket to find out how much a pint costs!

I only ever buy beer at the ground and you are looking at £4.5/£5 for a pint, same with cider I believe. Food is usually about £4 minimum as well - i think a quid for a bag of crisps.

Good luck with your thesis Patrick

It's all just a bit of a laugh
So I'll answer on young Pat's behalf,
    "This banter is sick
    And I love a limerick
So wind your neck in you bloody giraffe!"

    Its all just a game
