7pts on the road is pretty good. 1 from a possible 12 at home. Time to put that right. Bring on Leicester.
We need a good weeks training, and........ Maddison to go on a four day casino bender Vardy's mrs either giving birth on Friday or more Coleen drama! The rest of them to get stuck in a 8 hour traffic jam on route and VAR to scrub the first two they score. I reckon we might win this if all this falls into place.
I'm not sure if we'll be putting that right on Friday. But we'll then have a very unique position of having 14 consecutive home league games which don't contain any of Liverpool, Chelsea, Utd or Leicester. I'm not saying that we definitely will rack up the points in those 14 games, but we couldn't really ask for them to be any nicer. I know we're only outside of the relegation zone on GD, but that's six out of nine results which I don't really have any problems with. And of the other three, they include Burnley away and Chelsea at home - both of whom many would put us down to lose any way. Home to Bmouth was a big black mark, there's no getting away from that. But even that was just the first 45 minutes.
Beat them and we'll only be a couple of wins behind them in points after barely a quarter of the season gone. I've got a good feeling that we might've turned a corner with Ralph giving up on his early season "experimentation".
Considering the three confidence sapping defeats to Bournemouth, Spurs and Chelsea and the huge win for Wolves at Man City, that has to be a great result today. We just need a similar performance against Leicester and I can see the old fizz coming back to the side. We are a typical saints side ATM with good hard working players who only really deliver when confidence is high. But when they do, they are a joy to watch.
That was a cracking game. Shame we couldn't hold them off but two disallowed goals tells a story. That was the performance we needed after the last few weeks and that was the captain we needed all season. Wolves were very susceptible to our press and first half we pressed brilliantly, never gave them a second to think. So many turnovers but once again we lacked any cutting edge and yet again we scored by pressuring a mistake from their defender this time. Credit to Danny for forcing and taking that chance but how the hell are we going to start creating goals? Shout out to Yoshida, thought he was composed and looked good out there. Bedders, Valery and Bertrand all very good.
Lucky for the 2nd disallowed goal. Yoshida got caught appealing at the half way line. Edit. The Wolves player went searching for that pen
They didn't dwell on the pen, did they. Still think it was a gone looking for the leg decision, but can't complain too much today.
Although we were looking stronger in defence with him back..... I feel there’s too much dislike for him where others avoid it
