Sadly enough of them know they represent turkeys desperate for Christmas.

Got a few quid on it to sweeten the pill.

What are your thoughts on driving licences and new EU rules regarding driving in Europe in an event of a deal or Boris deal?
What are you thoughts on our own governments words
There will be no change to the rights and status of EU citizens currently living in the UK until 30 June 2021, or 31 December 2020 if the UK leaves the EU without a deal.
Notice the word until. It will be the same in the EU, things are changing.
However if you are more ITK than my mate then you believe that.

Strangely enough there has been very little EU integration on this one Ellers. The conditions for becoming, German, Spanish or French are very different. The EU. has set rough guidelines in that naturalization should be possible in all EU. countries after a minimum of 5-10 years legal residence They vary between those figures - in Germany it is 8. Thery are many other differences as well. The EU has not interfered with individual countries processes on this. Similarly we have different electoral systems in all EU countries - there is a reluctance to interfere on this. Britain is the only country in the EU. without a PR system, yet the EU has never tried to interfere on this matter. Incidentally - the quickest way (though not the easiest) to get an EU passport is to join the French Foreign Legion !

So has he got to give up his passport (as you said) ?
I can’t see how to link the website but if you look under’British in Germany’ ( I assume they are pretty much interested in the matter), it seems not.
Therefore your mate is talking bollox........you really shouldn’t spread bullshit mate as it does our ‘Leavers’ cause a great disservice.

Firstly nothing to do with spreading crap. Also you haven't answered my question. It was simple enough.
You quote on my post saying it's crap yet you cannot counter it. Therefore you are making yourself look stupid. At least cologne gave a comprehensive answer.
Now have a read of this and see if you can work it ou? I have underlined it to help you.

Passports following a deal with transition period
Under a deal which establishes a transition period, there would be no change to British passport validity in the EU during this period. Whether or not British passport holders would be subject to third country national rules, or other rules, after the transition period, would depend on agreements on the future relationship.

i reckon many Labour MPs need to vote with Boris, get Brexit done, so they can concentrate efforts on replacing that idiot leader of theirs and try to find somebody with the sense and gravitas to mount a decent challenge at the next GE.

I don't think it can scupper it but just delay and frustrate. Yes I think it will go through as many of the 21 and ERG will vote for it.
    The DUP aren't happy.

That accusation presupposes that there’s something feminine about May and/or masculine about Johnson. :)

No one going on the People’s Vote March then?

I’m in Ireland for a few days with the family; half expecting them not to let my wife back in!

He told me last week that
    1. He needs to get a EU driving licence ( which he is unhappy about).
    2. That he was advised to take out German citizenship and apply for an EU passport and that he would need to give up his British passport.
He said to me that he wouldn't and may return home if forced to.
I told him that they cannot do that and like what Cologne said it's not necessary in Germany. However he was adamant that's what he has been told. Like me he doesn't lie and unless something was lost in translation, I believe him.

Ok, maybe we’ll just say he was ‘misinformed’ then. Just a shame this type of ‘misinformation’ spreads like wildfire through social media and the like, eventually becoming ‘the truth’

To be absolutely fair the official who gave your mate this information may not be correct. I have heard contradictory stories in Germany, depending on where you made the application - if you just go to the local town hall in a small town, they may not know the full picture. Or you may just be confronted by a grumpy official who 'thinks' he knows. The application itself can also be processed much more quickly (and helpfully) in some places than others.
