I actually believe this article so I’ll get behind him if true https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...-phil-parkinson-named-new-sunderland-manager/
Will get behind him and the lads but it's an awful appointment imo. Smacks of short termism (if that's even a word)
Could be but I doubt there was a lot of difference in how much we would have had to pay him, Stendel or Pearson. He's the least exciting option but I'd be surprised if there was such a big salary gap between three out of work and out of favour league oneish level managers that Donald would risk taking the cheap option because the others were unaffordable.
Aside from the fact this is a pretty awful appointment can we bear in mind the takeover and what it means for that? 1. It means there's no money, so their potential investment isn't coming any time soon. 2. If their investment is related to promotion it probably won't be happening any time soon. Literally cannot get over how gutted I am about this.
You can’t spend anymore in league one as we are at ffp already, we must get promoted or else we are swimming in the brown stuff and tbf if it is parky then his record is pretty good
Plus because of our amazing success in being relegated 2 seasons on the bounce we still catch a bit of ffp rules
It may not be called financial fair play but regulations regarding what you can spend in this league relative to income still exists
Same for any one of the touted names. Promotion is the requirement this year, SD knows it and will have made the appointment he thinks most likely to succeed. He's got more money on this than we have - although probably not as much emotional investment. KTF
