Bollocks mate. You said “I was on a piss take and wind up.”. That suggests to me and anyone else reading it that you made the conscious decision to post a lie.
Just because there was no clamor to sack ross doesnt mean that last year there werent considerable misgivings. From march onwards there was considerable angst about the shocking number of draws and inability to keep a clean sheet. The style of football was cause for criticism. The Choke at wembley was shameful and it was down to him. The squads on paper had nearly all pundits predicting a stroll for safc. The team were woefully unprepared and underprepared and we just rolled over and let our tummies be tickled. Slice and dice anyway you like but that period from march through to may was a disgrace and it is all at ross's feet. No one else. Charlton, barnsley and luton did far far more with far far less .Because they had proper managers who knew what they were doing. Not a dithering rabbit on the headlights mumbler who was fast assuming a monster persecution complex and penchant for hiding his horrible stats to justify keeping his job. SD made the mistake of letting him keep his job
No you said it was a pi55take and a laugh . You admitted it. Now you arent man enough to accept it and crying foul. Pretty pathetic all in all
I’m not defending Jack Ross. What I’m saying is before the Coventry game on the 13th April, the 41st of the season, we were in second, a point clear with a game in hand and averaging 2 points per game. What would you have expected Stewart Donald to do at this point? What happened in the final 6 games was a disgrace, but one that none of us seen coming. That I refuse to blame Stewart Donald for that is what I was saying. Sacking Jack Ross at that point would have been silly. Hindsight tells us otherwise now, but there you go.
Ainsworth coming in on the odds https://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/sunderland/next-permanent-manager Ainsworth and Phillips I tell thee
Parkinson turned it down? Kildare mackem will be distraught, the way he's banging on about him you'd think he's Guardiola.
Not sure how you can know this? Has he actually turned us down? Has he been offered the job? Has Donald seen a candidate who is capable and willing to work on League 1 money? Answer to all of those is "I don't know" for almost everyone on here (probably everyone on here) Donald may be to blame but the only person who knows if he is, is him. I often wonder if people think these processes are easy. If it's just a case of "Here you go, we want you, there's the contract." and manager unveiled half an hour later! It's taking a while maybe because a large number of our fans are very vocal about the linked names
I hope so, the length of time this appointment is taking suggests to me that they aren't getting their first choice.
