My old fave, Cochise, goes to Bath tomorrow (3.50) for what will probably be his last run for current connections – is in the ‘Horses in Training’ Sale at the end of the month. I would have thought though that the old boy would have it all, and I do mean all, to do to get past Quel Destin running in the same race off just 66, I say 66.

Since Quel Destin’s last run on the level he has won 5 over hurdles (including a Grade 1 and a pair of Grade 2’s), for Mr Nicholls, and attained a perch in that sphere of 142.

Off just 66, back on the level, Mr Nicholls’ charge does somewhat take the old eye. Yes, I know it will be merely a ‘prep’ for bigger targets later this Autumn/Winter but you would have to say off just 66 (and The Daughter’s claim takes another 3 lbs off Quel Destin’s back as well) you would be disappointed if he didn’t spreadeagle (cor blimey that’s a good word) this field of the morrow.

Plus, the stable know what is required in this heat having taken it in ’18 with Divin Bere.

Maybe the future winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup will run tomorrow in Punchestown.

I guess you mean one of the Gigginstown runners? 7 out of the 10 runners in the two Grade 3 chases :)

Might be the making of him.

I've not seen a less Southwell card than the Southwell card tomorrow since they had a jumpers bumper on the track. So few Course winners

I was about to comment on the farcical G3 races at Punchestown. I assume these aren't races to be betting on

I've had to have a little bet in the 2:20 at Wetherby. My Great Uncle passed away recently and he was a big racing fan. His name was Norman so my bet for sentimental reasons only has to be:

    2:20 Wetherby - Uncle Norman 20/1 ew

With the Twister in such good nick I wouldn't put anyone off a little patent on his 3 runners at Wetherby today:

    2.55 Mr Antolini 5/1
    3.30 Dino Boy 9/2
    4.00 Crievehill 7/2
