Ignore those Mullins boys at your peril in these events, 25% strike rate at the track.
If I were picking one on pedigree alone it would be MORE INFO.

I see that some of Yorkshire's leading national hunt stars were out at Wetherby yesterday..currently no plans for Waiting Patiently who will run when the ground is right...I would have thought they would have been looking at a race over the coming weeks with the ground as it is..but seems not.

We all recall the debacle that surrounded him last season..let's hope he s campaigned right and we get to actually see him a few times this season..

I must say that current quotes of 6/4 re Glory and Fortune look rather nice. To be honest I was expecting 4/6!

Meanwhile, a bit of housekeeping. Hey Jonesy is now in double digits! Dropped 2 lbs to 99 after Saturday. Best handicapped horse in training, say I.

Finally, what do we think about forum fave, Coole Cody, being put in Saturday’s ‘Welsh Champion Hurdle’?!? Has never ever, ever, ever, ever run at the minimum distance before and his last trio of runs have been at 3 miles! Eye-catching nonetheless, methinks.

Is the 11th richest man in Wales perhaps lining up a bid? Very unusual for him not to have a runner in this.

Mount Windsor for me at 5/1 is the bet. Multiple bumper winner and a much better price. The fontwell bumper had big name yards in it and the Cheltenham race didn’t.

I also like dual bumper winner in the second race too, look at that ones form!!!

Tombstone was also bought, from Gigginstown, last month (for £26,000) with this very race in mind.

Yes, the WCH without the 11th richest man in Wales is strange. Rather like the ‘Boat Race’ without Oxford, strawberries without cream or an episode of ‘Richard and Judy’ without Judy…

It is an interesting angle, and one we don't see very often at this point in the season. If you run a line through Maria Magdelena (don't forget to add 6lbs onto that horse - Oddy fancied it that day :) ) you'd think that this handicap mark was well within its grasp.

However if you want to translate flat and jumps form, surely Thaqaffa would be the horse to be with in that race? A much better flat horse and off the same mark, he must be able to show something from this mark? Although same could be said for Ventura Dragon who is lurking on an amazing handicap mark.

It is a really difficult race, and I haven't even got to the handicap form.

Is it only a six pound penalty for being fancied by Odddy?

It doesn't sound like he will be aimed at the King George this season with the trainer now talking about the possibility of dropping him back in trip..:emoticon-0148-yes:.

She's talking about even bringing him back to 2 miles if the ground gets testing. One eye on the Tingle Creek perhaps? Highly likely that Altior is going elsewhere so it could be an open renewal this year (unless Willie sends Chacun Pour Soi over).
