No chance re a forward with pace. Parkinson loves the big lump up front approach. Expect a steady diet of long balls to Wyke.
Thats just a soul destroying thought. Actually he may get a tune out of him, with the right balls played to him it could work.. I think I've lost the plot lol
Absolutely this! He hasn't even been announced and it's the worst day in the clubs' history! Who did people expect? Mourinho? Guardiola? If Pearson has come in and asked for £x million a year and Parkinson will do it for quarter of that then what difference does it make? He's not my first choice but he's a manager who knows the league. And he'll get my full support no matter what unlike an awful lot of fans (both on here and in the stadium)
Blind optimism is preferable to blind pessimism seeing as we're all in the dark about how any of the contenders would do. Stendel might try to play attacking football and shipped four goals every game, just because it worked at Barnsley doesn't mean it'll work with our players. Pearson might turn up to the first game in an ostrich outfit and run round the pitch pecking at the opposition when they score. I didn't want Parkinson but we weren't far off with Ross and maybe he'll get enough out of them with a fresh perspective to sneak us up the table.
At this point we're all desperately trying to find some crumb of comfort, no matter how slight, while going steadily round the bend.
Is the source of your information trustworthy mate? Is this the kind of info they'd have access to and is their info generally kosher? Because at the minute I'm clutching at strwas hoping you're wrong. Christ knows I'm a happy clapper normally who thinks we've got a good chance of winning every match at 2.59pm every Saturday - but this has flattened me. His win ratio is horrific for any team wanting any more than 'stability on the cheap with no promotion or relegation battles', and his best season's overall results were at Colchester between 2003 and 2006 in a division lower than us. Once you mention the other promotion and getting to the league Cup final you're left with a 16 year managerial career with a win ratio of just over 30%. This (POTENTIAL) appointment is testing even my optimism, and I simply cannot see how a team on the verge of a takeover by a money rich consortium that needed promotion this season would even interview - let alone appoint - a manager with his track record?
Well all I can do is respectfully tell you to "f*ck off" and stick my fingers in my ears and close my eyes shouting "LA LA LA LA" over and over again... Then open them once he's appointed at tell myself "Well you were f*cking told weren't you? Yet you still blindly hoped it was a mistake. Learn from this!"
