turned a corner or are we still on the magic roundabout? Unbeaten for two games. Decent result at home against Southend and a well fought out battle, that brought home a point away against Portsmouth. Next up, third placed Posh, I sense an amazing victory coming soon, and Evans will be God. Do we believe in miracles, and could this be Steve Evans new signature tune... Come on lads play along it's Sunday morning, humour me
brb If you're wanting to talk about sexy things...... I've just returned from a day at Tottenham's new ground -- there was a NFL game played (( I knew as much about the rules as a GRS linesman does about offside ! )) The place was amazing -- and very very 'sexy' (( Scally couldn't even dream of such a stadium )) -- and, sadly, with the standard of football on offer at our 'slum', there will never be a chance of Gills meeting Spurs in the league in my lifetime........... and it will take us about half our home games combined attendance to match the 60,000 that was there today. You know the answer to your question -- definitely a roundabout - (( and even more definitely no magic associated )).
Contrary to popular believe, I don't see the team with rose tinted glasses, I know that against Portsmouth, our pass completion stat in the low 40's is way below what is needed if we are looking for a top half finish. Equally Portsmouth who achieved a 73% pass completion rate, failed to turn possession into real pressure so only gained 1 point the same as us. In answer to your question, we are still going round the bend but the treatment is working, a few more sessions and popping the pills and things will be looking a whole lot better.
What I noticed from Saturday's game and really annoyed me, was this media big club mentality. I was seeing reports how the Gills done well to hold promotion chasing side Pompey. I was like is someone having a laugh, they are 16th in the league for a reason, BELOW US! I'm already starting to think Ipswich are going to walk this league this season, it's quite a poor league with no real competition.
Dear Pegleg, (( I hope nobody else is reading this )) -- ! I am beginning to recognise the excellence of your cynicism.-- I think we need to have a DNA test.
