when you say groove i think of songs like smooth operator - sade or the fugees - killing me softly, am i on the right track?
Hehe, not really Hendrix, Free, Cream, Bill Withers... but I listen to anything, as long as it's not rap or dance. Not as into heavy stuff as I used to be, but on occassion the metal still comes out... much more chilled out in my old age now though!
Swansea winning today and scoring a shed load of goals in the process, and Ireland beating the Wallabies making Wales chances of progressing to the IRB World Cup semi-final/ final even more of a possibility.......thats real music to my ears!
Tamla Motown for me,but love Sinatra;ELO;Queen; Billy Ocean;Michael learns to rock;there's just too many to list. Particularly enjoy johnny hughs "singing" the praises of Swansea City !!!
I like most music as long as its good, ska, punk, blues, house, techno, d'n'b. Played bass and guitar in a few punk and thrash metal bands over the years, these days I do more DJ'ing, mostly early 90s hardcore and Jungle, as well as techno and house.
Back from holiday now so I'll chip in with, Pink Floyd; ELO; Travelling Wilburys; Fleetwood Mac; Arcade Fire and for mellow sounds I like Beautiful South. I'll listen to anything with good rhythm, strong beat and a tune and I even like most of the "Alternate Rock" stuff my son does with his band - makes Heavy Metal sound like chamber music though
For me it's: Genesis ELO Pink Floyd Supertramp Led Zeppelin Camel The Beatles Paul McCartney George Harrison Tom Petty Muse Porcupine Tree The Foo Fighters... ....and many many more....
....That was Dave Coverdale..Who took over the singing duties from original and best purple singer Ian Gillan..Coverdale or Elsie as the rest of purple called him left citing musical differences..he was to american sounding and formed Whitesnake with Bernie Marsden , Mick Moody, Neil Murray,Dave Dowle and brian Johnston ...Not the Johnston of AC/DC fame
