I, like a lot on here, would prefer Stendel out of the people who have been mentioned as under consideration. I believe the club said they have spoken to him, but does anyone know if he's actually been formally interviewed?

There's a big difference between "having a conversation" and being invited for talks.

Seems like Stendell is the favourite amongst the fans.

Phil Parkinson just overtook Ainsworth as favourite on Skybet

From who has been mentioned I am starting to come round to Phillips, yes he is an unknown quantity as a manager but he has a good grasp of the club and what is needed , Ainsworth will be a rabbit in the headlights , Stendell I think would do a good job and I wouldn't be upset if Rowett was to get it

Some talk of Pearson with Super Kev as number 2.

    I'd take that tbh.

I'm sold on the idea of Stendel but yeah as much as I don't like Pearson that would be a solid choice. He seems to get his players motivated, probably because they're scared that any minute he's going to pluck out one of their eyes and swallow it raw.

Phillips as number two makes a lot of sense, morale boost for the fans and top class coaching for our strikers. If it worked out well he can take the top job when the time's right.

Not adverse to Pearson but don't want Phillips anywhere near. He's probably a decent coach but I'm sure there are plenty of them. It's just nostalgia. There's absolutely no basis to assume that he'd be a good fit here. He knows the club? Its 16 years since he left. It's a completely different place.

I think they've worked together before as manager and assistant so there's a working relationship there but yeah for me there is some sentiment involved.

I tend to think that it doesn't really matter who the assistant is if the manager is good so you may as well get some bonus points from nostalgia and there wouldn't be any better coaches for strikers in league one. I'm not convinced by him as a manager but he certainly knows what he's talking about in terms of scoring goals.

Royston on telly now. I’m torn whether I’d want him back.

Yeah, on that basis he'd be a sensible choice as no. 2. All this Phillips, Allardyce, Keane as manager business is based on nothing other than something that happened a million years ago. It's completely irrelevant imo.

It is 16-years.... and Phillips has had a huge amount of experience as a player and a coach. If he wants to come then it’s because of a love supreme and he has my vote. Passion, belief and tactical competence, by FEK do we need it now. KTF

The last time someone was that desperate to come here was M’Vila and look how that went when we didn’t get him.

Completely illogical train of thought, I agree.

Can everyone stop mentioning my ****ing Yanni.

It’s like being stabbed every time I hear his name.

Every mention I’m 1% closer to hunting down Moyes and giving him electric shocks to his shrivelled pissy ginger nutsack.

I'd have Allardyce back as manager because I've got a gut feeling that he'd sort us out same as he did last time, Phillips as manager no way and Keane can bugger off. I think he dabbled in club management to see if he could better Ferguson, realised he couldn't and bailed out.
