Please gents, don't look down at your feet while walking. If you're short in the stride, there's a 40% chance you'll suffer erectile dysfunction.

Just as well that I take huge, high stepping paces. :)

    These blokes have no problems.

My son's new phone is a laugh a minute. He tells it to sing a song and "she" serenades him. He tells her to rap and she raps. He asked for a joke and she comes out with a joke. Keeps him amused as he chats away to his phone, I don't know what he has been saying to "her" but he said the ruder he gets, the ruder she gets. He said her jokes were crap and she apologised and said she will try come down to his level. You can ask her anything. Haven't asked the obvious. Might do when no-one is around <laugh>

He's just left for England on a business trip. It will be like having a mate on the plane. Hope he didn't have to buy her a ticket

We know how the British tabloids love to exaggerate things to make big headlines. So it is no surprise that the same applies across The Pond.

What was a surprise was when I received an American newsletter email that I get for free from their sister British publication. Apparently, “Thomas Cook collapses, strands 500k overseas”.

All the news over here has reported is 150,000 folks getting to stay a little longer in various places as their Thomas Cook flights are grounded. It is alleged, however, that there are also 350,000 foreign customers who booked through Thomas Cook and can order an extra Margarita by the pool as their flight home is a no show – obviously the ones they are most bothered about are Americans.

No real surprise that, according to the US reporting, one of the reasons for the collapse of Thomas Cook was “uncertainty created by Brexit”. I never realised that Project Fear had spread over there. The travel company tanked after 178 years because of a failed business model and bad management, but that happens with Capitalism. You would think the Yanks would understand that one: they voted for a man who is making America great again with smoke and mirrors.

As Rommulus posted a couple of months back. "The toilets after this event must look like some horrific crime scene." <laugh>

The P-51 Mustang is an outstanding plane. It brought together a brilliant air frame from the Americans and the wonderful supercharged, 12 cylinder, Rolls Royce Merlin from the Bits. The whistling is from the supercharger and air scoop beneath the fuselage. Top speed was a reputed 440 MPH. 15,000 of these beasties were built.

    Love the sound.

Robber bought cheeseburger during 'bizarre' McDonald's raid as staff couldn't open till without food order

We definitely do not need 20,000 more police when criminals are as stupid as that guy...

Millionaire's son who threatened barman with toy gun has sentence deferred so he can holiday in Barbados

...but clearly we need some serious reform of the judiciary if criminals can go on holiday before they go to prison. Was this Magistrate the one that let Julian Assange nip off for tea with the Ecuadorian ambassador? <laugh>

I was lost between sadistic pleasure and heart felt pain for the poor lady. And the fear in the gent when he had to confront the subject at the end was also sad. But Jefferies wields a heavy boot when he goes the slipper.

Poverty pay and abuse of workers commonplace on farms linked to major supermarkets

Found this link after reading the criticism of Whole Foods on Business Insider citing Oxfam.

Next time you go down Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Lidl or Whole Foods Market (actually, you won’t go to the last one unless you are in the USA) and you buy a carton of grape, melon or mango juice, spare a thought for the farm workers in Brazil, India and North Carolina (that is the US state).

According to the Oxfam report, the workers get poverty wages for 14 hour days in oppressive heat and suffer from serious skin diseases caused by contact with pesticides without adequate protection.

Oxfam have clearly been hiding this report from the UK media as I do not recall seeing it on the BBC News or splashed on any of the newspapers. In the US, the owners of Whole Foods Market, a small concern called Amazon, say that they are investigating the claims so hold your breath and enjoy your fruit juice (not sure how you would do both).

We go about our daily lives knowing full well that there are some terrible things happening out there. One of those things we tend to try pushing to the back of our minds, is a severe injury. Nobody wants to think too hard about something so horrific, it's natural, it's a self-defence mechanism. But we all know the **** is out there. The article below makes for an interesting read.
