    Where's that from?

Happy with the fact Stendel has already been spoken to.

Robins from Coventry or Robinson from Oxford would be my choice as a replacement for Ross , both have their clubs going along nicely particularly Robins given the clubs circumstances , both would be good candidates for the SAFC position.

All been written off on RTG already - as I said

I wonder what would have happened on there when we appointed the York manager, Dennis Smith, signed a journeyman John McPhail and a York reserve. The place would have been a complete meltdown and we know Smith, Marco and McPhail were instrumental in turning the club round

I see the point you're making but aside from that, Gabbers wasn't a reserve tbf. He was only 19 and had made 50 starts for York although hadn't scored that many so far in the season we signed him.

My objection re Ainsworth is the ugly, snide, ****house antics football that his team is known for. I'd not want him for that reason alone.

Sorry I am not really sure about Ainsworth I was just getting at how everyone is written off on RTG before they even have been appointed

I know what you mean but it's understandable if people have an opinion on someone that they're going to give it on a message board and negative voices can often be louder than the positive ones.

Unfortunately though we rarely get someone in that contradicts a lot of posters concerns. They more than often tend to live up to our low expectations but that's largely because of poor recruitment whether it be players or managerial.

Personally I'd hate to think that we'd end up playing the brand of football that his teams do.

If you look around the media they are like a dog with 3 whatnots . They dont know which to lick first.
Ainsworth is employed so we have to ask first and the press have got wind of that and extrapolated we want him. Wycombe cant refuse because ainsworth has done the right thing over the years.
I reckon ( as Donald said ) he is being interviewed so that stendel can be compared. Ditto cook. Donald isnt going to choose without making sure and he makes sure by interviewing, talking to others in the game etc.
Stendel will be cheaper ( no buy out clause ) and can start 'tomorrow'.
I am confident it will be him. If it turns out to be ainsworth I'd be gutted.
The ultimate in shooting oneself in the foot.
It would be a sign that donald is rapidly unravelling.

Seems BSA did exactly what ross couldnt do and did it in under 3 months..ie tighten up the defence.
Ross had plenty of time and resources.
How many defenders was he going to bring in before he 'got it right' for gods sake!
Ross was a nice bloke etc etc, but as a manager he was a dud.

Tell you what Sam did that Ross didn’t do.

He had the players fitter than anyone. They were all full of beans for 90mins.

All good managers build from the back and have a commanding cb
Clough had todd, McFarland, Kenny burns.
    Klopp has van dych
Ferguson always had a very very good CB, but Ferdinand and stam stand out.
Forget name of pep's Belgian cb from last season.
Not only that they play settled teams.
Ross was incapable of playing a settled team and worse finding/organising in the first place
