Hughton is a great shout. Sunderland aren’t your usual run of the mill league 1 club. He could easily guide you back to the PL. He is a cracking manager and one that should never have been sacked by ourselves. I also suspect that the takeover is nearly complete. I imagine this would be part of the deal. Could be wrong mind you. I usually am
Sacking Ross makes no sense if the takeover is off unless this is a move to appease the fans. Like I said on the other Ross thread, no manager is going to make any difference with the current squad.
I agree, mate. Didn't get get you promoted and had you comfortable in the premiership when he was sacked? No idea about the takeover but my gut instinct is that it's off now.
If we get someone who can get the lads fired up we might kick off with a couple of wins and it might snowball from there, we aren't much better or much worse than any side in the league imo but when a team goes on a run they're hard to stop. Tactically I don't believe any manager could produce chess like master strategies that would outfox other teams in this league, not with our players.
Ross getting sacked could mean The takeover is either completely off or on . I'd assume since no announcement and how far talks had gone it's on tbh but could be wrong. I wish Ross well though, He showed so much promise at the start but we seemed to hit a level then start to decline. Onwards and upwards.
I don't think we're too far off but we're lacking one or two key players in key positions. I think that's tied his hands tactically. I don't really buy this 'Ross can't motivate them' theory. A thoughtful demeanour on the touchline doesn't equate to that. We don't know what happens behind the scenes. A new manager will probably give us a bounce though (hopefully) and, like you say, the key will be turning that into momentum.
I don't either mate I think our refusal to be beaten while Ross has been in charge is testament to that, yes there's been a few iffy results recently but that happens to every team and isn't the crisis it's being made out be. I'm just thinking that like you say we'll get that new manager effect with the right guy and it'll get things rolling again.
I think they'll give him more time. I think the hierarchy there know they aren't the force they were. Solskjaer has told them they needed a rebuild and they're only part way through it.
The timing is a little surprising. They’ve had all weekend and all day yesterday. To sack him hours before a match would suggest there’s more to this than meets the eye.
Comfortably midtable. Put 6 past villa and won some match 5-1 on Halloween. Should never have been sacked. You think so? Time will tell I guess but this could be the signal that bigger change is afoot.
In all honesty, he should have gone when he wanted away after the play off final. Didn't his Dad talk him into staying ?
Read somewhere that SD is gonna be talking on radio at 5 about the decision. Dunno of he will talk about the investment too. Dunno if it was talksport or something 5. Cannot find it now. Can anyone clarify?
