No, not really. I used to love it, then I became disillusioned with it in about 2010, and just seeing all the terrible things associated with football over the last few years has made me grow to resent the sport. To quote the Cranberries, but I'm in too deep. Of course, I still like Portsmouth and enjoy most of my games I go to... I wish I could follow Portsmouth in a vacuum, completely isolated from the rest of it, but realistically that's difficult... Though I do like international football.
See, I’m OK now. I flirted with wetting the bed but this post has put things into perspective. Please, whoever’s reading this, if I ever get this bad you have my permission to shoot me.
I felt that his body language after Burnley was that of some one who was very unhappy, more than just because his time had lost.
Fixed it. They're chocka with academy players at the moment. Yes, their wealth brought them prestige which brought them youth players and they've abused the loan system for years but money or not, they're using their own and their manager is one of their own. As a club they are doing well and they are much better than us.
Cameras spent a loooong time on him today. Confirmed what I have come to suspect that all is not well in the camp. The weird selections and his general demeanor are not good. Yes, he's been getting well beaten but he looks as pissed off as I've ever seen anyone.
There is no comparison with the Puel / Pellegrino days on my opinion. The football was dire. Under RH, I've enjoyed watching most of the matches - even todays - but that does not mean we will stay up or that it is good enough. I'm just saying that it's not like the boring football of the last couple of seasons. For the record though, I don't think we will get relegated. I think its too early in the season to draw any conclusions
Can anyone summarise what happened today? I mean I know we got thumped but we seem to be going backwards.
I too feel the same and hope so but 10 points from the last possible 48 (inc last 8 games of 18/19 season) needs to pick up soon. Not sure what's going on but we're using up a lot of possible reasons this season.
First twenty looked good. Big boob by Gunn and we concede. Looked toothless after that, and Ralph looked, for the first time, at a loss. Confidence looks less than brittle throughout the club.
The desire for instant gratification is a sign of gross immaturity. Patience everyone. There were good things today and there were a few bad things. I thought Romeu, Valery and Bednarik had good games. The less said about the rest the better. However, it hurts to say it but Chelsea were very good.
We’re losing by larger margins. Looks like Chelsea had an easy afternoon, though I could be wrong as I didn’t see the match. Hence me asking.
Top man RSS, you summed up how I feel about the club, it goes deep with me I've had some difficult times and haven't lived near Soton for absolute decades but they're in my DNA. We may not be great at the moment but we're still Saints.
To me it seemed like a game of ping ball, long balls from defence and lots of headers. Ralph might be the best manager we can get, but the players are seriously not
A change of avatar or a personality transplant. What have you done with the real Godders you foul swine??!
Hmm, we are going backwards in the sense that the momentum from last season has evaporated. We fielded a team bereft of any new blood, essentially the same side that could have been played under MP2 and - unsurprisingly - we got stuffed. We pressed but then failed to transition to attack very well, Ings barely touched the ball and even though we played Long from the start we failed to get balls over the top or into the channels for him. As we did against Spurs we recycled the ball from midfield to defence and looked short of ideas. Takeaways - Gunn made the case for dropping him even stronger. Valery was so far out of position for their third that I said 'oh ****' as soon as the ball was played out left but was excellent in the period around his assist. JWP and PEH just don't seem to be doing their *thing* and arent getting into dangerous positions a'la Mason Mount.
I was at the game..........as the game went on our confidence dipped..........dreadful mistakes were made especially in our final third by our defence. Chelsea have some very good players and we seemed to be half a yard too slow all the time. Keep this form up and we will be in and out of the drop zone all season........very disappointed.
So she could do nothing and let Gao do it his way i.e. seems little or no interest in the club from a football perspective.
